I really saw Stacey's father's point of view better in this book. He hardly ever got to see his daughter, and it was a special night for him. Not to mention he really ended up missing his own party because of her. If she was going to behave like she did, she really should have just not gone. Not to mention I thought Stacey was being kind of ridiculous - sure, her mother was sick, but she wasn't on her deathbed! And honestly, if I had pneumonia, I wouldn't want a teenager hovering over me and "helping" constantly - I'd want to be left alone to sleep!

Stacey was my favorite when I was younger, and she still is today. I dont know... I guess i LIKED the bad side of her! She could be a snobby b*tch, and then she could be so sweet and caring too...like with Charlotte... I dont know... Lol

I couldn't stand Stacey as kid but have really started liking her lately. I can relate to her in a lot of ways and have come to appreciate her subtle/sarcastic humor. She's almost one of the funniest sitters in a lot of the books. And I love reading about her interactions with the kids - she's much better with them than I relized as a kid. I don't really like her snobby side but it doesn't bother me as much anymore. Neither does the "boy crazy" stuff (which is why I didn't like her as a kid - the sitters without boyfriends were my "heros" ;D)

I didn't love Stacey as a kid, but I didn't hate her either. aln, I like her a lot more now, too! I think it's because I'm more similar to her than I realized (when I was little and my friends and I played BSC, I always, always, always had to be Jessi). I love math and clothes, and I'm probably more snobby and boy-crazy than I'd like to admit Thankfully, I've never written any love poems to student teachers, though I did once have a crush on one! (My dad humiliated me by telling him he'd heard a lot about him during parent-teacher conferences. It was seven years ago, and it still makes me cringe.)

I really, really liked Stacey when I was younger. Beautiful, blonde, sophisticated, mature, super cool, and a tad bit snobby.
Everything I wasn't. I loved it.

Stacey annoys me now. I go through phases with her. sometimes I love her and other times I can't stand her. I'm feeling the latter right now. She acts like she's sooooo caring with her "almost sister" Charlotte, but then she's such a freaking b*tch! She's so worried about being cool, it becomes absolutely pathetic. Did any of the clients parents ever find out about the concert incident where they were sneaking in wine? I'm surprised they'd want her sitting again (I know she didn't bring wine in, but her friends did and... guilty by association). Stoneybrook seems really gossipy, I'm surprised no ones parents had an issue with that. Doesn't she ditch Charlottes talent show or play or whatever the heck it was at some point?

Yesterday I got a phone call from Stacey McGill. No really, some recruiter called me and said her name was Stacey McGill.

yeah Charlotte's recital... I think she made up for it or something later in the book.

Stacey went to the recital. She didn't go to the bsc talent show, where charlotte performed as well.

^ I was also thinking it was the recital but I think that's when Charlotte got stage fright and that Greer is right. After thinking more about it, it was a BSC event that Stacey missed - the talent show. That's one way the others knew about it. I really hated how Stacey acted in this book and totally could relate to the other girls. But for some reason, when I reread it, I didn't hate her. It was kind of like I enjoyed reading about what a jerk she was (if that makes sense in some weird way ;D) Maybe a "love to hate" thing. I think I just feel more sympathetic to Stacey's character because I am finding more ways that I relate to her as I get older. Experience can really change perspective.

It's been awhile since I read the book, I tried to order it from waldenbooks, but it wasn't available *Sigh* I was thinking last night, and i remember thinking it when reading it before...that they almost seemed to steal the subplot out of the tv show of Stacey's Big Break...Charlotte has to perform in front of an audience, stacey lets her down, and then shows up at the end.
