Wasn't Jessi also supposed to get braces? I never thought Mal had it that bad though, since she managed to get the clear kind of braces. Are those just as painful?

She didn't get invisilgn, she got the same braces that hurt, but she just got the ones that were clear, instead of metal or purple or whatever. So instead of looking like a metal mouth, she looked like she had bits of something stuck in her mouth. lol. I do not miss braces, and expanders, and rubber bands.

One day when I'm rich, I'm going to get braces. I hate my teeth (at least the way they look, I have very healthy teeth, so I appreciate that). I would have gotten it done when I was younger if we could have afforded it.

I desperately wanted braces when I was in elementary school, the silver metal kind. Not many kids at my school had braces and I thought braces were cool. I was so weird. I was crushed when my dentist told me I did not need them. My sister got braces when I was in my late-teens and I wasn't jealous. I was so over it by then.

^I was weird too then. Only once I got them, I realized they sucked. A lot. Same with glasses. I wanted them because everyone was getting them.

I wanted glasses, too, far more than braces. I think it was because a lot of my favorite characters in books and movies wore glasses. Then when I started reading the BSC and met Mallory, I adored her. I wanted red hair (I was blonde with redheaded cousins) and glasses, too. Now I have red hair and glasses/contacts. I'm thrilled to no longer be a blonde, but not so much about the glasses. It's not so dibbly cool after all.

I love my glasses. Except when I'm at an amusement park. Then I'm wondering why I don't invest in contacts. You can't do much with glasses on a roller coaster.
I cannot imagine you as a blonde.

I had a friend who was like that about braces. I had braces myself but only on the top!

^ I wanted braces too until I had to actually get them. I hated having to get them tightened every month. My underbite was so bad that I had to wear them for 5 years.

Man I hated braces! Especially when they got tightened, they made my mouth hurt so much I had the metal kind and I guess the only fun thing about it was choosing different colored bands when you went for appointments. And missing some school. I felt self-conscious about my glasses when I was little. Often I didn't want to wear them and so I squinted more than I should have, which no doubt weakened my sight further. Now I like my glasses. I still prefer contacts, but they can be a pain. It feels great after a long day to take them out and put on glasses.

^Heh, I always chose silver or gray rubber bands so that they'd blend in as much as possible. I couldn't handle some neon color on my teeth.
I still hate wearing glasses. They're a pain especially in situations where I need sunglasses. I'd have to either buy prescription sunglasses or wear those dorky clip on things. I choose neither option and stick with my contacts. I'd really like laser surgery some day but am scared they'll mess up and ruin my vision even more.

I loved my braces! I mean, sure they hurt, but they weren't awful to wear. I hate wearing my glasses, so I wear contacts every waking moment I have.

I'm definitely guilty of wearing contacts too much!

I am so sick of glasses >_<
I've had them since I was in Kindergarten. Bleh. I would love to get contacts, but I highly doubt that I would be able to put them in, because my eyes are super sensitive and I can't even put on eyeliner.
I've never had braces, though!

By "clear kind" they didn't mean invisalign--it wasn't out back then. Clear kind means that the brackets are clear plastic or porcelain instead of metal. You still have wires. I had porcelain on top and metal on bottom. And now I have invisalign, which is still painful. Nothingtolose, you should still at least try contacts. I get rashes around my eyes from eyeliner sometimes but contacts are ok. i generally wear glasses though.
