^ That's good to know. ;D I would be really interested to know more about how the whole idea/ghost writing thing worked. Back on the subject of Kristy, she is always funny for me to read about when she coaches. I can just picture her with a whistle. ;D

Kristy I did like when I was younger (I did have the Kristy doll! lol). But reading them again, she was a lot more tolerable in the earlier books when she knew how to have fun while running the BSC. When she became a caricature of herself, it was too much to handle. I think what did it for me was Jessi and the Bad Babysitter when she gives Mallory nuts about being sick and not taking any jobs. The girl is ill, and you're mad she isn't taking jobs? Geez! Then, in all seriousness, she orders Dawn to return to CA lol. She also took competition badly...you're not the only babysitters in the town! She was horrible in that book.
I also didn't like her interaction with Dawn in the earlier books. I get where she's coming from there, but I didn't like how rude she was to Dawn and how she felt that she constantly had to outdo her in everything then act all smug. Remember her helping Mary Anne redecorate her room in...was it Dawn and the Impossible Three? She always has to be the one with the great ideas, and she has to be the one to outdo Dawn.
I do agree that she's different in books where she's narrating. Kristy's Big Day is a great book.

i only like kristy when she narrates. and i hate all the books that mention sports--ughh!! anyway, i like kristy better than dawn (although i thought they both reversed rather than improving during the series) and i didn't like how MA seemed to prefer Dawn, whom she has been friends for just a year, rather than her long time best friend. I know they are also stepsisters, but stil...
ohh, and i really want Kristy's collie cap!! i don't like dogs in real life, but i like them on clothes ^^

Well, I think part of mary anne's seeming to prefer Kristy also has to do with the fact that Kristy now lives across town. I also think this might be why Kristy acts somewhat rude to Dawn in some of the books. I mean, Kristy's lived next door to M.A. her whole life, and suddenly she moves and then M.A. finds a new friend and shes' not there anymore for everything. It's probably really hard on her, and that's why she's more controlling in some of the later books.

I don't really care for sports but always enjoy reading about the Krushers. They're willingness to not give up is really inspiring and I love the idea of coaching a group of kids. ;D

^ Yeah, I love that about the Krushers too, even though I don't care for sports either. My favourite sporty book is 'Kristy and the Walking Disaster,' because that's when the Krushers start up and there's a lot of inspirational stuff in it. Plus, I find Kristy and Bart's early relationship cute.

The only book I liked with sports in it was Kristy At Bat. I think that was because it had a lot do with Kristy and Watson's relationship.

^ I like both of those, too. My other favorites are Missing Child and Haunted Mansion. Those are two of the books that introduced me to the Krushers, Kristy, and the whole series so will always be among my favorites. ; D

I wasn't too much for the sports parts of books, either! However, I really did like Haunted Mansion and Missing Child (Missing Child being one of the first books I read too, aln but I agree that I liked Kristy a LOT better when she was narrating, and also in the earlier books. Exactly! At the beginning of the series, she was a little bossy, yes, but not too overbearing. She would cancel meetings at times and she seemed to actually care more about her friends than the BSC (though I know Jessi Ramsey, Pet-Sitter is only #22 and they got into a big fight over reading the notebook in that) but it just seemed as though the BSC wasn't her everything in the earlier books (though I guess this could be explained with the passing of time cementing her love of the BSC ...) but I think it was more like the ghosties trying to fit everyone into the perfect little box. You know - Kristy is Mrs. Boss. Claudia is dumb (her spelling gets worse as the series progresses, I swear!). Jessi is all about ballet (she went from being not interested in ballet as a career to full-blown zOMG DANCE IS LIFE!)

Claudia's spelling absolutely got worse. It was much more believable in the earlier books, with her spelling occasional words wrong.

My best friend spells like Claudia, and sometimes I think it's improving and then I get into an IM with her that leave me shaking my head.

In the later books all the characters become extremly exagerated.
