Poor Logan! The only one without a post!
Thoughts about Logan? I thought he seemed like the perfect boyfriend any 13 year old girl would love to have. Yeah, he became controlling, but seriously, that seemed to come out of nowhere.

I liked Logan. He was a little controlling in Mary Anne + 2 Many Babies as well, though. He didn't trust Mary Anne with their egg. I never understood why people got the "gay vibe" from him.

I don't understand why they call him gay, either! It's along the whole "OMG! Kristy is a lesbian!" thing -- there is really NO basis for it. He plays sports and babysits... seems more well-rounded than anything.

I've always liked Logan. The controlling thing did just come out of thin air. I wonder why they put that in there? Maybe they wanted to show that he was trying to be considerate of Mary Anne's shyness or something and he just....took over. Got too carried away with it or something. I've always kind of wished they had more about his family in the books. Like, more things about Kerry and Hunter. It just seemed like they forgot about them until they needed more kids or something to write about. They sounded cute to me.

^ word on Hunter and Kerry. I really enjoyed reading about Logan's family in his Special Editions. So unusual to see a happy nuclear family in Stoneybrook.
To be honest, I never really got the gay vibe from Logan either, although he was exceptionally sensitive for a 13 yr old boy. When I was 13, the "cool" boys (as it seemed Logan was supposed to be) generally wouldn't be interested in a shy girl who loves knitting.
When I read the TWoP forums and everyone was making comments about Logan "aching" for Alan Gray etc, I just found it funny. It had never occured to me that Loges was gay before.

I agree that in junior high it is highly unlikely that one of the "cool guys" would be interested in a girl like Mary Anne. But I tend to think that Logan wasn't really that cool in the grand scheme of things. I put him on par with maybe Claudia and Stacey - they seem really cool and mature to their own group of friends, but in reality it doesn't seem like the rest of the school pays all that much attention to them.

Yeah, weren't the Bad Boyz, or something, supposed to be the cool guys at school. I remember reading that in Logan's Story, and Logan looked tame and nerdy in comparison.

I never thought of Logan as gay until this thread! I suppose anything is a possibility, but... nah.
Word on Kerry and Hunter and happy nuclear families! I loved in Snowbound how he skis up to the Pikes with food. And how in the snowstorm, all the BSC members were having adventures, and Logan and his family was playing Monopoly by the fireplace. I *love* that image.

Logan just seems to sweet and understanding for a 13 year old guy. And I also never got how the apparently hottie of the year went out with the introvert crying shy girl. Or even noticed her to begin with

I thought the Bad Boyz were supposed to be the token "wrong crowd" that are portrayed as a bunch of losers, so that the impressionable readers don't go around thinking it's cool to break the school rules and get pizza for lunch. I thought Logan was supposed to be that smart, funny, good-looking jock type, the BSC's answer to Todd Wilkins, with the same controlling tendencies. Word. It doesn't make sense, not at that age. Five yrs down the track, maybe.

Actually, this joke isn't too far off. I knew a boy from GA who was a lot like Logan. He was so sensitive and compassionate that it was almost annoying. (And no he isn't gay. He had a major crush on me and moved on to become a real "ladies man." He is very into theater so maybe that explains some of it. I guess all guys are different. I don't see a lot of them growing up by the time they are 18 even. It's too bad

One of my favourite Logan moments is when he shows up at the Pikes on cross-country skis with food (in Snowbound). AWWW.

^^^ I loved that too. One thing I like about Logan is that he really is sweet to Mary Anne. He never acts embarrassed or ashamed of her when she's being freakishly shy and the way he talks about her smile is just very awwww

I just read SS#2 (Summer Vacation), and in the postcard back to his family, Logan signs it with "Love Logan". None of the males I know sign stuff with "love", let alone postcards to their families...
