Not me, lol! I did like her in Abby and the Notorious Neighbor and in parts of Abby's Lucky 13.

Abby is awesome! The only reason I kept reading SM #3 was because she was so hilarious in it. I'm reading this one, and she so is. After she practically cripples Martha Kempner, she's like "you started it." I looove how Abby is unafraid to tell adults exactly what she thinks. Her math teacher, the indignant mother in First Thanksgiving, the woman who doesn't approve of Scout being in the supermarket in Dog Trainer. There's probably more. There were so many condescending adults I knew when I was younger that I wished I had the courage to tell off, so Abby rocks in this department.

I was really indifferent about Abby when I was younger, probably because I hadn't read many books of hers. Now, I like her. She is a funny character, but it would have been better if she had came sooner in the series. I bet I would have liked her even more if she was one of the characters when I first started reading the series.

i named my car too. it is a lumina, so i named it stella -- stella lumina :] i really love abby. i have posted this somewhere else too (i don't remember where) but i love that she is just DIFFERENT than the boring mold already set by the first 89 books. i'm really sad that she only got a few books. i understand she was kind of the cousin oliver though, and that she was introduced to keep the series fresh and new. i just wish they could have kept her around a little bit longer.

^ Yeah, I would've liked it if they kept Abby around. I wrote in the Friends' Forever Everything Changes thread that I thought that it would have been interesting if she remained in the club and that I would have liked to read about her thoughts about everything that's happened.

I LOVE Abby. She's funny and spunky and she exudes confidence that Dawn wishes she has. Abby actually made me realize how much I appreciate Kristy since they both have a I'm-not-taking-nonsense-from-you attitude. I guess I'm drawn to outspoken people.

After reading two FF in a row where Abby was a big part of, I can finally see her as a good friend to the club members. It seems to me that she fit into the books much better as a supporting character than a lead.

Interesting observation: it seems like most people on these boards prefer Abby over Dawn.

I don't know. On this board, it generally seems like it'll a toss-up between the two, IMO.

I don't think it's an either/or situation. I don't really see similarities in the two that would cause a comparison.

Yeah, I didn't mean an either or situation (because they're both so different). But, let's say we had to take a vote on which one you PREFERRED, perhaps Abby would win. I'm also just judging based on the conversation on the boards, especially both of their individual threats. There could also be the variable that Dawn was around for much longer; therefore, there would be more to snark about with her.

I honestly can't find any Abby books, and so in everything I read, she's okay. Just okay. The only one I have is "Abby In Wonderland". But the one I'd like to read is "Welcome To The BSC, Abby", seeing as that should give me a better idea of her character. I just watched a YouTube video in which a song was written called "Chapter Two" which summed up Chapter 2 of pretty much every BSC book when the girls were introduced and described in detail. The second verse summed up each girl, and the last line was "No one cares about Abby, who has asthma and a twin". It's funny cause Abby does tend to be the forgotten member because she was introduced so late in the series. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZdMd4yzwiY&list=WL&index=93 Here's the song! Go check it out, it's a really fun listen.

I thought Abby was a good character but I was losing interest in the books when she appeared so I don't really think of her as a BSC member. I wish she had been introduced earlier. I especially liked the way she stuck up to Kristy.
By the way, I love that youtube song. Thanks for sharing!
