Hey all- when reading the books, do you ever picture them as people you have seen on tv or movies? I know it sounds really bizarre, but when I think of Dawn, I think of Cynthia Nixon's character (named "sunshine" lol) in the 1980 film "Little Darlings" (yep...really crappy picture I know, but it was all I could find. Just so you know, her hair was really long, lol) When I think of Kristy, I think of Hillary Wolf in "Big Girls Don't Cry- They Get Even" (1992). The character she plays is even like Kristy... (the chick hanging from the rope- couldn't find a screencap) .....anyone else picture them in your head as people who actually exist? Or am I the only crazy one? *amber*

I've never pictured them as anybody in a movie or television show I've seen, but there was this girl in my Spanish class, who looked exactly like how I pictured Kristy to look like. The only difference is that she came to class pregnant one day (well she became pregnant before the term started but didn't really show until the middle of the semester), and it totally ruined the image for me. Lol.

A post that references Little Darlings and Big Girls Don't Cry... is a post that makes my day.

The picture of most of them that I have in my head is pretty original and not like any one I've actually met. I do however tend to picture some of their houses as houses of people I know.

I pictured Kristy as one of my best friends for a long time, because of the personality. Look wise she was more a Mallory, though. (Without braces and also without glasses these days - really, not saying she's ugly, she just has the hair thing going on ) I don't picture Mallory like her at all, though. The personality is just way off. Nowadays I don't think I really picture them as someone I know/someone famous. Nice thread, by the way always nice to see how other people picture them!

I pretty much picture them as a combination of the pictures on the covers, the girls in the movie and the girls on the TV show. Kristy I definitely picture as the girl who played her on the TV show. Claudia is a bit harder, because I don't think TV or movie Claudia were very good. Dawn is nearly impossible for me to picture, but I do like the picture of her on Dawn on the Coast and I like to think she is like that. MA is easy, definitely think the pics of her on the cover of most books are good... I never meet real people and associate them with BSC members though. I should look around and see if anyone reminds me of one of the girls

If anyone's familiar with the tv show Boy Meets World, I always thought Danielle Fishel/Topanga in the early seasons would have made a good Dawn. The character was kind of a spacey feminist and she had awesome butt-length hair.

^ I totally agree with the above, if Topanga would have slimmed down on her lips (hopefully I'm remembering right).

OMG you're totally right about Topanga, but I do think she would've had to grow taller and slimmer!

^^ Naaa......not for me anyway. I always pictured Dawn as more of the willowy blonde type- tall and lean, whereas Topanga was more short and stocky....and then grew ginormous boobers.
Danielle Fischel pre-boobs could have been Kristy.....imagine Kristy growing massive knockers in her first year of highschool, and then Claudia and Stacey getting all jealous. It would have been classic.

I picture Elizabeth Brewer as looking like Ann M. Martin does in the back of older books -- when her hair was dark brown.

I don't how I came to the conclusion. But, I've always pictured Watson Brewer as looking exactly like the father on "Clarissa Explains It All." And no matter what I read about the description of Watson in the books, I can't get the image out of my head. LOL

Don't ask me why.

To me Watson was a roly-poly short bald guy who sweat a lot. He got his women because he was a pretty decent, generous man, not cause he was hot. But however you want to picture him is fine too.
