I don't think it's snowbound but there was a book where the weather kept hitting 70 degrees and the weathermen kept saying it's going to snow, it's going to snow and it finally snowed. Anyone know??

^ I think it might have been a Little Sister book but I'm not sure. I know I just read it, though. Maybe Karen's Snow Day?

What book is it where they're in class and Pete Black's reading aloud from their book, like Shakespeare or a poem or something, and Emily Bernstein is gazing at him adoringly? I want to say it's a Stacey or Claudia book but I can't remember for sure.

That sounds like Abby's Un-Valentine.

I didn't check that one but I think that may be right. I know it's not Memory Garden or Stacey's Secret Friend or any Claud books about school because I checked those They sure do a lot of Shakespeare in SMS

Yeah, I think that's definitely Abby's Un-Valentine. Incidentally, is it really that common for middle schoolers to be learning Shakespeare? I know I didn't do any Shakespeare until Romeo and Juliet in 9th grade, but maybe that was just a southern thing.

^ The girl I tutored did Merchant of Venice last year and she was in 9th but that was a private school. If I think of it, I'll ask my aunt and uncle since they are both high school lit teachers and huge into Shakespeare.

I remember them reading Shakespeare, too, but only remembered them more in later books. I remember the earlier ones had them dealing mainly with Newberry Award winners. Or maybe not. I dunno.

Yeah I think the Newbury Award winners book was Claudia and the new girl because I think I remember Ashley saying that she had already read them or something.

^The Newberry Award reference was definitely Claudia and the New Girl.
I didn't study Shakespeare in school until 9th grade, either, so that's definitely not just a Southern thing (I've lived in the Pacific NW all my life).
Which book was it where Nicky Pike (?) turns to a sitter (Dawn?) and says "So one day this matta baby walks over to me and says --" Then the sitter conveniently breaks in and says "What's a matta baby?" And Nicky replies, "Nothings - whatsa matta with you?"
I think it was one of the earlier books...
