And I'm pretty envious of her BSC collection too. Me too. Definitely. ;D

I'm not sure if this is the right place to discuss this, but does anyone else find it weird that Ann M., in those 'Messages to the Reader' at the back of the new style books, would talk about things that are barely relevant to the actual book? I just read 'Mind Your Own Business, Kristy!' and instead of talking about bad influences from your friends, or sibling problems or something, she talks about vacations! (I started laughing when I saw it.)
What are everyone's opinions on those messages? (Did she actually write them, by the way?)

^ Mine doesn't have a letter from AMM at the end. I didn't realize there was a new version of the cover for this one with the letter.

I think it's funny that her letters have little relevance to the actual book. For Mind Your Own Business she probably thought, "Oh, the characters are on spring vacation in this book. I'll write about vacations!"
I remember for Stacey's Broken Heart, I didn't expect her to write about Stacey's break-up, and sure enough, she wrote about how much she hearts NYC in that one.

^ I always thought that was strange, too. Some of them were related and I liked them but some of them had no relevance, though sometimes I did like those too. ;D

^ I can't remember that letter, what did she say? I can't type the whole letter, but I'll just type the end, which I think is kinda creepy. Well maybe it's just creepy for me. ;D Here it goes: After reading this book, you might think that I had mono when I was a kid. I did have mono, but not until I was forty---years after I wrote this book. Usually I write a story about something that has already happened to me. This time, something happened to me after I had written about it in a book. Let's hope that doesn't happen too often.
Happy Reading, Ann M. Martin

I noticed that too. It seems she does that when the books are about relationships. Maybe she feels uncomfortable talking about it for some reason.

I always found them to be mostly irrelevant to the actual main plot of the story. I have read a few and went in my head " what did that have to do with the story at all"?

What if Ann M. Martin stumbled upon this website and read the posts we made?

^ I've often wondered the same thing. I feel bad for her. Even if she claims not to mind, I think deep down, everyone is hurt by criticism. I've been trying lately to realize this and see Ann's point of view. Mary Anne Spier, what did you find creepy about that letter?
