^ First, I was responding to your post about AMM. Then I was responding to Mary Anne Spier's earlier post. To answer you again, ma-4-ya, I would not want Ann to come to this site because I wouldn't want her to feel bad. (That's what I was saying in my last post)

^ Sorry,I got confused when you mixed the two posts together. I dont think Ann is going to feel so bad because basically when we talking about how books suck and such, its about the ghostwriters that screwed up not her.? If she comes to this thread however... When did she claim not to mind?what do you mean?

^ I didn't say she did claim not to mind. I said IF she said criticism didn't bother her, I don't believe that.

^ Again,very sorry I misinterpret your words. True,criticism stings everybody i believe.Even if its a little bit.

I think she should be happy that people are bothering to write about her on the internet. Even criticism is better then not being talked about at all. Every time people say "Ann M Martin" her name is out there, and that's publicity for her new book series. Besides, she's a grown up, and she made a ton of money off of these book. Anything bad that people might say about her or her writing/books/etc can probably be trumped by the fact that we are a very small group of people and she sold millions of her books.

Agree, Penny...Ann's a very busy, successful woman and I don't think anything we say here would be of much importance to her.

Maybe I'm just really a sensitive person. Or I guess I'm not successful enough ;D because I would care, deep down. I think it's great Ann is still writing, even if it's not the BSC (though I haven't ever read any of the new books) What does everyone think of her new series?

Oh I'm not saying because she's successful she's not bothered by it, just that it's probably not important to her. Two different things. Anyway...maybe she would be hurt by some things that are said, maybe not, but I guess we just don't know. Also...I'm kind of sensitive too. If I came on here I just wouldn't read threads about myself.

If she ever discovers this website, the only thing I would be worried about is Ann is going to find the Ebook link to go on LJ.

What would happen then? And I'm sure there are lots of ways to find out about the LJ ebooks than these boards.

I know there are different ways to find out about the ebooks but im talking about if she comes here and maybe she might find the link and make Lj to take it out somehow but that is very unlikely.

^ I agree. At least she is talked about. And its not like we hate the BSC books. I hope that if she did indeed visit this board, she'd realize that all the criticisms are made out of love (well, most are). We make fun of the BSC because we love it so much! I also hope she wouldn't feel bad about the jokes and criticisms and stuff. While I'm sure she's professional and is used to criticism, she might be pretty sensitive. After all, she did base Mary Anne on herself, and we all know how Mary Anne is. But really who knows? I hope she'd be glad that the BSC is still being talked about.

^ I've often wondered the same thing. I feel bad for her. Even if she claims not to mind, I think deep down, everyone is hurt by criticism. I've been trying lately to realize this and see Ann's point of view. Mary Anne Spier, what did you find creepy about that letter? I'm not quite sure...

I certainly hope that AMM wouldn't be offended by our playful bashing. I mean, I love the BSC, I really do, but I also love to make fun of it! (Slightly. I am in the middle of snarking a book for the LJ community bsc_snark, but it's probably not going to be nearly as witty as others there because I don't have the heart to bash the books.) If they were books that I hated, then I would have fun snarking the hell out of them. So, if you're reading this, AMM - I LOVE THE BSC ;D
