There's been a lot of snark/discussion on the Chapter 2's, so I'm curious to see how many of us actually read them. As for me, I only read the parts where their outfits were described. I loved those as a kid!

I always read only the part that said something about Claudia and school and MA's father being strict because of the seeming inconsistencies with those two things. Even as a kid, I never cared about the outfits, though Claudia occasionally gave me a good laugh. But I'm a "Kristy" at heart

I usually glossed over them. Although if I was bored and had read the rest of the book, I would go back read the infamous chapter 2's.

I always read them all the way through. As a kid, I couldn't stand the thought of missing any part of a BSC book, but as an adult, I have realized that the Chapter 2s are veritable goldmines of snark. There's some really ridiculous stuff in there, they're an easy place to find inconsistencies in the books, and then, of course, there are the Claudia outfits.
Um, and I guess I still can't stand the thought of missing any part of a BSC book.

I skim them, just to see when they've finished the introductions and go back to the story. As a kid I'd read it all.

As sugarandspicexx said, I read them completely and thoroughly as a kid, but when I'm re-reading them these days I generally skip over it for the most part.

The introductions sometimes span three chapters (narrator intro, member intro, club intro). That would be skipping like a fifth of the book.
I don't know...I think the "chapter 2"s are part of what make it the BSC. It wouldn't seem the same without them.

I usually read like the end of chapter two, when the story officially 'starts' again, but really, that's always the same, too - the girls 'diving' for the phone.

I sort of skim over them. Sometimes Ann or the ghostwriters put in dialogue or whatever from the meetings, so I'd keep an eye out for stuff like that. But I didn't really read them after the first dozen. :-p

When I was first reading them, I usually skimmed over them. But now I usually read them, because I can appreciate how hilarious they are. But yeah, I agree with ktag that the chapters 2s are a big part of what makes them BSC books. Getting rid of the chapter 2s would be like getting rid of the BSC alphabet block logo.

ITA! ITA again! The absence of the alphabet block logo is what ruined the FF series for me ;D Also, how strange it is in the earlier books when the girls refer to the club by it's full name - The Baby-sitter's Club - as opposed to the BSC.

Skim. Sometimes there is dialogue or something other than just describing the members, and i want to catch it. But I just CAN'T read it word-for-word. I've tried, it's so dull and you already know exactly what's gonna be said.

I read over them for little details that pop out once and are never mentioned again.

I always read chapter 2. I started reading BSC books when I was seven, and it never took me more than 45 minutes to read the entire book, chapter 2 included. Plus, I probably read like, 50 books before I realized that it's the same content every book. I got through them much faster when that finally dawned on me.
