^ She doesn't mention Mal and Jessi at all? That is really strange. Agree about them being in the club much longer ;D

Or that Jessi's black. I got so sick of being reminded of that constantly. Me too, I mean who cares if she's black? I don't understand how that was such a big deal in these books or why they felt the need to mention that Claud was Asian in every book.

^well, they also always say that kristy and ma have brown hair, dawn has looooong blonde hair and stacey has a perm. i don't think they go overboard on the physical descriptions, i mean how else are the readers gonna know what the girls look alike if they aren't told?

^ Agree. The covers certainly don't give an accurate picture sometimes ;D I know "Jessi's black" might not be the best way to say it but am not sure of a better way. I think it's actually pretty important to the story the differences in the physical appearance (Mal's insecurity vs. Stacey's seeming "sophistication" and security for example)

^Which is why they do it. SV describes the twins in every book, but quickly. And it describes each friend/family member who comes in, as they come in. The BSC could have done that, with not so much detai about each member and their family if it wasn't relevent to the story, or that moment.

Similiar to the charm bracelet (what book is it?), some chapter 2's were made original. I liked one where Claudia says which animal every members would be (I think Mary Ann was a cat and Claudia was a parrot, because she is original and has many colors). I don't remember other original ones, but there was a few.

I love those kinds of chapter twos as well. There's a Valentine's Day Stacey book where she describes the cards the members gave her the "previous" year (ha ha) and what it says about their personalities.

^ I had forgotten that one but it was a good one. I like a few of Claudia's where she describes them as pictures or paintings and one where they are described as what animal they would be. I also like the one from Kristy at Bat about what kind of camp they would like.

I always just skim through the chapter 2s, unless it's one of the chapters that has a little bit of dialogue between descriptions.

I think they're really helpful. When I got my first BSC book,I was really confused. I thought Claudia was Stacey and Stacey was Claudia, judging by the cover. I read the descriptions, how they look and everything, and that really helped. I skip them now,but I always check if they have a description of what Claudia/the sitters were currently wearing.

I always read them. It's never occurred to me to skip a section of a book I'm reading. I'd feel like I was cheating or something. I do like when something major (usually it's something traumatic, too bad for them!) happens to one of the girls because at least then the chapter 2 is changed a little bit for a book or two.

I always skim it-I look for things like clothes discription. I always find those funny to imagine.

No, I it figure it's the same c*** (are we allowed to say that word here?) all the time. I wish she wouldn't do this, I mean it's a series and if you want to find out about the girls, read the first ones! I don't know of another series that "describes" each character AGAIN, in each of the books. I mean, there could be more to every story if she didn't take up FIVE pages of this c***!

When I was reading the BSC the first time, I read every part of every book faithfully, in case I missed anything.
When I started collecting, I was doing it out of order so I needed to read the chapter 2's to know what is going on: is Dawn in California? Is Shannon in the Club? Is Abby around? When it comes to books 106 and up, mysteries, and some other books, I read the entire chapters (because these are the books I never got to read the first time around). So overall, unless I'm skipping timelines or jumping around from say, book 73 to 104 to 43 to 23, I skip chapter twos or skim for juicy bits.
