I just looked it up and in the truth about Stacey two parents miss the first twenty minutes of a concert because their sitter doesn't show up.

I am so happy that somebody used the term "jelly."
Ah, the BSC-verse, where apparently concerts always coincide with catastrophes.

Maybe Ann got trampled backstage while waiting to see the Beatles in person by a mad mob of fans. And that Paul McCartney was so dibble, too! Dash it all! (I totally think she was the one that probably called herself "Paula" in the 60s.....tried to blame it on Stacey's mom...TSK!)

;D That's a great theory. I can see Ann as a Beatles fan and I think there might have been a reference to Stacey's mom being one. Was there?

Yes, the mention of Mrs. McGill calling herself Paula for awhile was in Stacey and the Bad Girls.

^ I think that's the one I was thinking of. Notice that the links on this thread are now for Beatles stuff? My mom would like this as she was a huge Beatles fan when she was about 10 and they first became famous ;D For some reason, I can see Mr. and Mrs. Pike being Beatles fans, too, and maybe Elizabeth and Watson and Sharon. Were any of their musical interests ever mentioned? I know something was mentioned about Abby's dad liking certain groups but now can't remember which ones.

I remember The Doors being mentioned in one of Stacey's books but am not sure exactly which one it is in.

Oh yeah, I think it was maybe in Stacey's Mistake. When they're setting up for the party I think they're listening to them, and Stacey thinks they're "loud and weird" or something and says it's her parents' music.
I think there's a mention of Watson having a big record collection but I'm not sure in which book. There's an illustration in Abby's portrait of a mix tape that belonged to her father, the songs he liked to listen to while cooking. A lot of classic stuff I think like Creedence Clearwater Revival, Earth Wind and Fire, The Supremes, stuff like that. Mrs. McGill says in Snowbound her and Mr. McGill's favorite bandleader was Tommy Dorsey. Mr. Spier likes jazz and classical.

^ I can see Richard liking that kind of music. Wonder if he always did, though. I guess AMM only hates live music ;D

Didn't Richard like a bunch of 60's girl groups? I seem to remember a mention of it in #4 when MA and Dawn were going through his stuff. Or I might be thinking of a Judy Blume book. GAH! I miss my BSC books! All 40 of them are gone, now.

^ I might have to reread that. I'm always interested in Richard's background. All of the parents' actually. Crocetti, let me know what books you need and if you're interested in buying them as I have several duplicates that I'll sell for cheap - basically just shipping.

aln, that's so dibble of you! But right now I'm relying on the library...my parents are kinda like the Kishi's..."What's this? BABYSITTERS CLUB?! You're 23! You need to read Tolstoy!"
Now that I think about it, I totally hide candy in my room.......I'm so Claudia. Except I doubt she'd have to live with her parents in her 20s to save money for tuition! LOL!

^I can't actually imagine Claudia having to pay tuition. I don't see her as being disciplined enough for art school -- remember how frustrated she got when she took structured classes in New York, New York! If she did end up pursuing some type of post-high school education, though, you're right, I'm sure Mr. Kishi could foot the bill Isn't he an i-banker or something?

^ Totally agree about Claud not making it through any kind of higher education. As for Mr. Kishi paying, whether he can or not might not be the point as I know lots of well off people who definitely are capable of paying for their kids' tuition but don't.
