Although Jessi's Gold Medal was a pretty good book, I have to admit that I was disappointed in the title of the book...
...because it gave the whole story away!
Automatically I knew that Jessi was going to win a gold medal at something, and from the cover we can already assume it's synchronized swimming. They should have picked a different title. I felt that a lot of the book was lost for me because of the title. For example, the whole few chapters when Jessi and Elise get worried that their act wouldn't be good enough in the competition... I already knew that was a big farce. Therefore, I didn't feel bad for her. I didn't sympathize and I felt that ruined a lot of the potential this book had.
I thought it would have been a good twist to have Alan win the Alan-Kristy-war-competition, just because it was more unexpected. It could have added a good twist in the book where Kristy had to be Alan's servant. But alas, no, in typical BSC fasion, Kristy wins.
Overall I felt this book was pretty good. I was kind of glad they got away from Jessi and all her dance sha-nana-gins.

^ Ooh, that's a good one! It would have been more interesting to read that book thinking 'Oh my gosh, what could be this horrible thing that MA is talking about that changes her life forever??' instead of 'When will the fire happen?' It could have been quite suspenseful, and been titled something like 'Mary Anne's Big Change' or something (haha, I don't know, I suck at titles, but something along those lines).

Or something with a big-bang ending.
Like, "Mary Anne's Nightmare"

Hello, Mallory is pretty obvious, especially since it's right after Goodbye, Stacey, Goodbye. Jessi Ramsey, Pet Sitter. Gee, do you think Jessi might be petsitting? Get Well Soon, Mallory

"Claudia and the Sad Good-Bye", especially with the picture of Mimi on the front.
"Logan Likes Mary Anne" ...well, then, okay. I wonder who ends up with whom.

I figured "Claudia and the Sad Goodbye" wasn't too spoiler-y, because I feel that the book's main focus is about Claudia's grief and how she handles it - as in "Mimi's gone, how is Claudia going to get by?" rather than "What's the huge change that's going to happen in Claudia's life?"

I agree. The little tagline on the cover always makes me sad, too: "Claudia never thought she'd have to say good-bye."

Mary Anne and the Memory Garden. It says on the back that her friend died! I mean couldn't Ann and editors just let you guess what the memory garden was for? I mean it gave away the whole story!

Jessi's Gold Medal title gives the whole story away, agreed! Basically you know what happens, besides the whole Alan and Kristy race scene! I think others that could be included are The Ghost at Dawn's House and Kristy and the Mother's Day Suprise!

^ Well, Mother's Day Surprise only gives away the fact that there is a surprise for Mother's Day
