I know there are a few Betsy-Tacy fans on here, so fwiw if you're interested I'm going to post a bit of a story filling in Betsy's freshman year at the U that I'm just beginning. It's the only BT there I see. I'll post here again when I get the first installment up.

If they started a letter writing campaign to get them re-printed, do you think we could do the same with the BSC books? Because that would be cool.

Even if we did have a successful campaign, I doubt they'd do all 200 or whatever. It's just not economically viable. They'd maybe do the first ten or so.

Petitions don't work. I mean llike a real letter writing campaign. Where everyone writes actual letter or sends something to scholastic. petitions are easy to ignore. Letters are easy to ignore too, but occasionally they get through because people took the time. Sending small objects is less easy to ignore because they take up space and are kind of a pain to deal with (when you get millions of, say, peanuts). The peanut thing actually got a tv renewed after they cancelled it -- they peanuts were in reference to a line on the show.
So ... we could send in diabetic supplies or pencils and visors or sheep barrettes. Glitter? Sparkly sweatshirts? ;D

The peanuts thing was for Jericho, which was canceled last may and renewed for a midseason replacement after a campaign. But I think the writers strike was also involved. And i know after season one or two of Veronica Mars, some people took it to the extreme and sent in all sorts of things, plus someone got a plane to fly around with some sort of message. People really like their serial dramas, I guess. I can't imagine it working for BSC books though. Maybe we could get like the first 4 reprinted as a box set. The people who would buy them would be in their 20s, and have the expendable cash.

^The books with those covers were available in 2001, and only through book fairs. I bought one once, and was really confused about the cover so I did research. I've seen the first 4, and a couple of little sisters with that style cover.

^ I've seen Karen's Rollerskates in that cover form, it was quite bizarre. A couple of months ago they sold books 1-3 as a volume (as in books 1-3 in one giant book) at Half-Price Books. I almost bought it, but since I already have the original books plus the graphic novels, it seemed a little excessive.
I'd love to get the books re-printed, but unfortunately I don't think that'll happen. I think I'd rather see a reunion book. I like the idea of sending in sparkly sweatshirts, Penny! We could also send leggings, since the BSC wore them so much. ;D
