Sam. He always makes me laugh even though he's quite immature.

^ Agree that Janine and Claud might have started getting along better. I could already see a more of a bond starting to form between them. Looks like Claud's family has the members with the highest votes. Maybe this is to make up for her parents, who I get the impression aren't as well liked (or developed) as some others.

I picked Janine, because the way the other girls treat her is pretty unfair. I mean yeah she uses "zomg Big Words oh noes! " But she's really nice and tries to be close to Claudia and Claudia just treats her like crap. Poro Janine.

Another nice Janine/mean Claudia moment: In I think Stacey and the Mystery Money, Janine asks Claudia if she can borrow some markers to make a diagram. Claudia asks what colors and goes off on a tangent Claudia can't follow, so she gives her the whole package. Janine offers to explain it sometime and Claudia waits until she's out of the room to say to Stacey, "when pigs fly!"
Honestly, she seems so snide sometimes.

Poor Janine, indeed. In the one where Janine gets a boyfriend, it's fairly obvious from the first couple of chapters that that's what's going on. But OF COURSE she must be taking drugs or something because Janine could never have a boyfriend. *eyeroll*

^ ;D That always annoyed me how they didn't believe Janine could have a boyfriend. Anyway, I just thought of some family members who aren't on the poll but that I really like - Abby's Grandpa Morris and Gram Elsie. I loved reading, especially, about her relationship with her grandpa in Abby in Wonderland and her saying that they are more alike while Anna, her mom and Grandma are more alike. Reminded me of how me and my mom were always closer with my grandpa and more like him while my aunts and cousins are more like my grandma.

It was a hard vote for me, but I actually voted for Charlie. I always had the vibe that he was a good big brother to everyone most of the time and I really liked that. I also liked Jannie to though for that same reason ( except in her case it would be sister).

^ I really like Charlie, too, especially in books like Baby Parade. I think he was almost like a dad to Kristy and the other kids when they were growing up and that had to have been hard. He seems really mature and responsible, probably in part because of the role of "man of the house" that was forced on him, in most of the books. Much older seeming than only 2 years older than Sam. I think he kind of "sheltered" the younger ones if that makes sense (or took care of them, really).

I'm not a big fan of Sam or Charlie, but given the choice, I think I'd choose Charlie over Sam anyday. Sam's "pranks" are annoying and stupid, but Charlie kind of seems like a nerd with no life outside his baby sister sometimes...

Mimi!! Mimi seemed so sweet and nice and just the best person ever! Not only to Claudia, but also to MA. I loved how MA was close to Mimi; after all, she needed some female adult guidance in her life. Well, this was before Sharon, of course.

I like Mimi more every time I read about her (mostly pre-stroke because after makes me sad....) I think that even after Sharon came along, MA was closer with Mimi. Sometimes I wonder if desire not to "betray" Mimi combined with the same feelings about her mother to make her more reluctant to let Sharon in....

^ You make a good point! I also don't like reading about Mimi after her stroke... or even at all sometimes, because it does make me sad knowing that she is going to die
