^ Agree with not liking Claud's parents and their lack of understanding (though I can relate to being very concerned with education). Also think the ban on the Nancy Drews is so stupid. I think Claud's interest in reading ANYTHING should be encouraged (unless the book is totally inappropriate, which Nancy Drew isn't). And I don't see the books as being too easy for someone who has the trouble in school that Claudia does....

Mr. Thomas.. .I dont see how anyone couuld really like him after taking off from his family. Although Mr. McGill certainly isn't the best either...putting work before his family and all that. I tihnk the Kishi's can be uptight, but overall they're good parents.

^ Agree with all of the above ;D I can't stand Patrick. For some reason, I don't care for Dawn's dad but I think he's actually okay (maybe a cheater but....) I don't know why I just don't like the guy.

It is hard for me to say who I think the worst parent is. I think they all have their strengths and weaknesses. If we are going for the obvious choice I would say Patrick but I barely consider him a father.

Well patrick obviously, but I don't really like Jack Schafer either (though he was okay in Dawn's book), he was such a jerk to Richard in SS14! Plus more. I agree the Kishi's aren't the best parents, they may be great for Janine, but they are out of their depth with Claud. Mr McGill, is in my opinion, bitter and selfish. But at least he loves Stacey alot. The Pikes, I believe, were meant to seem 'new age/relaxed', but I do see what you mean about dumping it all on Mal. It wouldn't bother me if they made the triplets do stuff too. The Ramseys, as someone mentioned, are pretty great, minus that one SS that seems to have been a dream for the rest of the series. Richard always had the best intentions, even if he seemed mean Sharon was a bit selfish moving the kids so far away so quickly, but I can understand that. Oh, and Mrs Stevenson (Rachel?) I commiserate with. She jumped into work to avoid the big gaping whole left in her life by her husbands death... even if it meant slightly ignoring the kids. sad, but understandable.

The junk food thing grosses me out! I have an aversion to most junk food anyway (strange... I know) but thinking about eating a whole bag of candy at one sitting grosses me out! I am surprised that Claud has any appetite for normal food after all of the junk. Wouldn't her parents notice if she didn't? I'm convinced that they do know about her "secrets" and think that the Nancy Drew ban is reverse psychology. Somewhere it comes out that Janine squirrels away junk food too, so I bet you're right.

Phantom Phone Calls, I think. When they're eating taffy and Janine says candy is also her "vice."

I remembered it was in one of Claudia's earliest books, but just didn't remember which one.

I feel like I can't vote for Mr Thomas because I haven't read a book with him in it yet. But I did vote for 'other,' and in my case, I've chosen the Hills. The things that they say to Norman in Dawn's Big Date are just atrocious

^ I think they would actually be in the "worst charge parent" since I think this is for BSC parents. But we know what you mean ;D As for my choice for worst in the "other" category, I would vote for Jack. He's not awful but seems more like a "buddy" type than a "dad."
