well, i'd have to say Dawn (even though Mary Anne's my fave)...here's the problem with the rest.... Kristy -bossy sometimes Claudia- could yell at a person for criticizing her wording Mary Anne- well, she too nice..thats the problem Stacey- could be snobby at some points Mallory- worries too much about her looks Jessi- when she gets in a fight with mallory, she get mean and u know how the rest goes.....

I think either Claudia or Jessi. Kristy, I like in her own books but I don't think she's very nice or supportive in other books. She's also got that jealous streak. Most of my thoughts on why not are on the meanest sitter thread, so I won't repeat them.
But I think Claudia is actually really nice. She doesn't really give me the impression that she loves kids like Kristy and Mary Anne do -- she has her own interests and seems to be in the club for the friendship. Just my impression, not really sure of any actual wording to back this up. After reading Live from WSTO, I actually kind of wondered if maybe Claudia might not want meetings held in her room three times a week. That has to be tough, especially with her art and her school trouble.
Jessi because so far I haven't seen her put anyone down. She helps her dance friends, decided to do the volunteering, helped Danielle, and got involved with the school for the blind. She even learned Sign Language, so she could take better care of Matt. Yes she was getting paid, but she didn't have to learn as much, or teach it to the neighborhood kids. She also seems really protective of her brother and sister.
I would say Mal, but she actually seems too "hero worshipy" to me. Like she might turn on someone for the chance to be a little bit more popular. Just my opinion though.

^I agree about Mal.
I think MA,Claud, and Jessi deserves that title.

Is it weird I think MA deserves the title for the Nicest and meanest Sitter?
I also agree with Penny Lane about Claudia. Claudia is a lot nicer than they let on in the usual Chapter two's.

Jessi, no question. I was actually thinking about this today, and I think she's the nicest because she's rarely involved in any of the fights. She was also the only one who didn't attack Stacey during the end confrontation in 'Stacey vs. the BSC' and I think it's not because she didn't have an opinion, but because she saw that Stacey was already getting enough crap from everyone else. I got the feeling a few of the others jumped in because they felt empowered by the rest of the group attacking her- Mal and MA, especially, who are the two I wouldn't think would have the confidence to speak up if everyone else wasn't doing so. Um, yeah... I pick Jessi.

^ I agree about Jessi. I have to think more about the other ones. I think they all have their nice and not so nice moments, just like real people. ;D Great topic, Booboo. ;D I needed a new one to think about and puzzle over. ;D

I'm thinking it over too...I agree that they all have their nice and not so nice moments. I initially wanted to say either Mal or Jessi. Mal can be kind of uncomfortably rude and tactless when she wants to know something (see Henrietta Hayes), and Jessi can be unsupportive of her friends (Mal's riding lessons, the Peter Pan play), but I think for the most part, they're very nice, conscientious girls. I think Claudia is a very cheerful, enthusiastic friend most of the time, like everyone's "cheerleader," but she has a tendency to retreat into herself when she feels sorry for herself and snap at people who want to help her, and also at people who she thinks might be more talented than her (Abby and skiing).

I like Jessi a lot too. She seems cool. I liked how she sort of broke the ice with Mal with a joke when they were starting to become friends.

Is it weird I think MA deserves the title for the Nicest and meanest Sitter? I also agree with Penny Lane about Claudia. Claudia is a lot nicer than they let on in the usual Chapter two's. I don't think that's weird at all. Mary Anne is pretty passive-aggressive so it makes sense that she could be the nicest and meanest.

I agree with what everyone said about Jessi being the nicest.
I find that I like Claudia a lot more in the later books than in the very early ones. Maybe this is because her jealous/immature side showed up a lot more (as in Mean Janine and MA saves the Day). Maybe I actually like ghost-written Claudia better than the original Claudia for this reason.
