I think the book should have had Mary Anne win a category.
She could have easily won the Most Caring category.

The conclusion, Mary Anne just publicly calling out Cokie for being mean, was OK but underwhelming, disappointing that Cary didn't play a bigger role or had better ideas either planned for or done at the party. No, it was fine as is...I'm glad they didn't have Cary taking over too much. Too many other teen girl series do that...have a girl start off with a partial plan, but then have a boy step in, virtually take over and end up being the main hero of the story. |
