First BSC question, and it's one answered a million times.
Ann_Martin: The idea for The Baby-sitters Club came from Jean Fiewel, who used to work at Scholastic. She had an idea for a mini-series about a group of friends that had created a baby-sitters club. I created the four characters, of what I thought the club would be life, and that was the beginning!
_reel_baby_: Ann, I'm really enjoying the BSC graphic novels! How are you involved with them? Ann_Martin: As the illustrator lays out the text and art, I get to read through her manuscript to check for accuracy, flow, and make comments. I feel very honored to be able to be that involved.
_Presubmitted_Questions_: What are your favorite Baby-Sitters' Club books and characters, and why? State: GA Ann_Martin: My favorite BSC book would be the first one, since it started everything. My favorite character was Kristy --I felt everthing started with her. Ann_Martin: My other favorite character was Karen from the “Little Sister” books, because she was just so fun to write about.
Still nothing new. There's no way she's going to get through all the questions at this rate. Can't we weed through them?
_katekangerook2_: are the chararcter names any names of people you know? Ann_Martin: Yes, many of the characters are named after people I know, and some are completely made up. Mary Ann is sort of named after myself, even though there’s the “Mary” in there – but her personality is certainly most like mine. Claudia was named after my friend Claudia.
She keeps writing lame stuff for my questions? Ooh, my editors ... well only becuase they tell you what to write. And I'm trying to so hard to think of stuff that's not about BSC so they might pick them
