(This isn't about Jenny and Andrea, this is about Nick and Madeline- I think that's their names.)
Any opinions? I think Nick suffers from BSC Client Dad Syndrom in which we never see him beyond #4 when he gets a backbone and stands up to his wife. Madeline seems to be all about IMAGE! Their relationship comes off as strained and good subject for a fanfic. Any other comments?

I like Nick. He seems to really just humor his wife. They remind me of the main couple in Keeping Up Appearances, but forty years younger.

There's a fanfic out there where the Prezziosos are divorced and Nick hooks up with Stacey's mom....

^That's what I think of when I think of the Prezziosos. I never gave much thought to their marriage in the books. I don't think it really came across as strained. Mr. Prezzioso seems very nice in the book when he organizes her baby shower. I don't dislike Mrs. Prezzioso exactly, she just makes me roll my eyes. Calling Jenny "our little angel" and so forth.
I'm not sure what you mean -- that he DID stand up to his wife in #4 (which I don't remember) or that he didn't in #4 and never did after that book?

I always think of BFF (I think) where Nick hooks up with Mrs McGill and Jenny and Andrea are little terrors. I think that needs to be explored more.
I think all the BSC Client dads needed to be around more.

I agree with Penny Lane and Starry night, that's what I think about when I think about the Prezioso's

I actually kind of like Mrs. P. She caused a few eye rolls from me lol, but for the most part I thought she was an attentive mother and obviously loved her daughters very much.

ROFLMAO at the keeping up appearances reference, I can totally see that! I always felt sorry for Nick. If I was him I think I'd be a terribly unhappy man. He seemed so easy going, down to earth and well, average. Madeline seemed like an extremely uptight pretentious pain in the ass that even choose his clothes so they were to her standard. I also really hate her type as a mother her "little angel" had to be so perfectly dressed at all times that her oportunities to be a normal child and explore and have fun were limited. As for constantly calling her a "little angel" that just makes me roll my eyes and shake my head. Yes, she's a child and you love her, you're proud of her but for god sake she came from YOU get over yourself!!

Yes, remember how confused Richard was when Madeline called at the end of #4. "Something about an angel."

I love Mrs P! I know she's a fusspot, a bit of a stage-mum and is crazy about image, but I also think she would be a very loyal friend to have and whilst she's a bit misguided, she's very kind!
For example, she defended Stacey and the BSC in Missing Ring. And whilst she was obviously concerned about her own house and the fire spreading in Fire at MA's, she also stayed and made sure that MA was OK.

^ I like both those examples. She's got a good heart underneath all the fussiness.

I think of them also similar to Bree and Orson from Desperate Housewives...

I LOVED that! I also remember her saying the party they went to in that book was "a real dud." That always made me smile.

You pretty much summed up my thoughts on Mrs. P.

Yes, I can see them as Keeping Up Appearances character. I also love that show.
Wonder, if Mrs. P. wears fancy lingerie at bedtime. (Since she wears fancy dress at basketball game.) Makes Mr. P. wear fancy men pajamas.
