While I've never brought in ice cream (apart from a choc top) my friends and I have managed to take in pretzels, buckets of fairy floss, kilo bags of easter eggs and sushi. We usually go down to the Reject Shop (sells cheap, no name brand junk food) and pay less than half of what we would at the theatre, but since the cinema we go to is in a shopping centre they're not too strict on it.

^Me, too, Oldhickory! That would have been hysterical. I still wish we had gotten to read about Claudia trying to hide ice cream in her bedroom. The definite thing I ever snuck into a theater (multiple times) was a blue icee. There used to be a restaurant in a mall's food court a few steps away from the theater that sold the icees. The same icees that the theater wanted 3X as much for. It was most definitely against theater regulations to bring in outside food. Even bottles of water you were supposed to buy at the candy counter. I remember that from experiences here in LA.

I'm all for sneaking in the types of things that they sell at concessions. Snacky type things that they charge too much for. I think bringing in a big bag of fast food or some other complete meal is a bit excessive. Like you seriously couldn't eat your burger before you got there because you wanted to chomp through it before the previews were even done with?

^ Reminds me of a busy movie theater in downtown Toronto that's at the very top of a mall, so to speak. You take escalators up to the top floor but on the way you pass all of these fast food kiosks. It's almost like a yellow brick road, tempting you to buy before you see the movie. I'm sure managers are aware that people sneak food from there all the time into the theater.

Haha. I never NOT spill something on myself in the theater, so I can't imagine, lol.

The Movie ran from like 11.00-1.30 and my friend's sort of a health nut so she decided to bring in sushi because she doesn't eat any of the junk food we brought in and likes to eat at specific times.
And I also spill stuff on myself constantly, not just in movie theatres, everywhere, and most recently I spilt ice cream from a choc top on my new shirt, so I think I'll stiff to solid, non melting foods from now on.
