Well, certain aspects are still in. They seem to cycling through the trends. It looks like high wasted pants are trying to break back in (have been for awhile now, ewwww), along with relaxed fit pants (no comment, thank you katie holmes). Black and White prints are still pretty hot, as are bangle bracelets and costumey necklaces. Oh, and zippers!
That, coupled with neon colors, and some of the pieces that michael kors showed (mixing stripes with polka dots) i'd say we are moving toward some of the early 90s trends.
I already lived through that once! wasn't that enough?
Oh, and the weird floral prints that are everywhere.

I've seen some floral prints that go back farther than the BSC era. Things that my made my mother say she'd last seen them in the 70s.

Remember the heart shaped gold earrings Claudia had on some book covers for awhile? I bought those in the mid 90's and felt special like claudia for having them. And then one broke and that was it.

I think mixing two patterns is cute. I remember that cute outfit claudia put together quickly in The Mystery at Claudia's house where she wore black and white plaid pants, a black shirt with white polka dots, and red accessories, very creative and cute!

The idea of that outfit makes me dizzy. But I don't usually wear patterns to begin with.

^I'm pretty basic like that also, but I have been mixing in some polka dots and patterned scarves. I could be like my roommate (the girl) who only wears black. All black, every day. She was told to mix in some color and she added grey. I laughed. I suppose that's better than looking like a Lilly Pulitzer ad, or one of tyra's rejects Oh, I came here to say that I almost bought some Claudia style earrings at Claires the other day. Anchorage is turning me into my 8 year old self.

Haha, I kind of dress like your roommate. I love gray and black.
Claire was the land of Claudia earrings for me as a child. I had a fire hydrant/dalmation pair from there.

Ew! I hated "Claudia earrings" What's pathetic was that Claudia actually thought that it was cute to wear those gaudy earrings with those ugly clothes she wore. ugh!

That reminds me of a conversation I had awhile ago with a co-worker, she told me she had bought some earrings at Claire's...she's in her 30s. I didn't see anything wrong with it. If they're cute and you like them, why not? I usually like Claudia's earrings. I was reading California Girls and she was wearing dangling cowboy boots in one chapter. I would wear those, if I had pierced ears, and was actually used to seeing myself wear earrings. Can you imagine sifting through her jewelry box? Boots, bananas, dogs, bones, lions...

I was at a Claires last week and didn't notice any Claudia type earrings. There were things she definitely would have worn, but they all matched. No dog/bone types, just dog/dog. Lots of rhinestones too. Claudia could have been blinged out.

I got neon nail polish at Icing (same parent company as Claire's) and it's really awesome and holds up well. A+++ would buy awesome neon nail polish again.

I have some hair clips from Icing that I love. This is making me want to go to the mall and buy hair clips and nail polish

I used to LOVE earings and I had all sorts of them, but eventually I began to stick to hoops and a couple basic pairs. Purses was my other main obsession.
