I didn't know what a fedora was until I saw it and recognized that the type of hat michael jackson wore was called a fedora hehe I think it was in the first book when Stacey was wearing Claudia's purple fedora
Jumper confused me, as did barrettes, cause as far I know, no one in Canada really said barrettes.

Umm... a hair clip? Now I'm confused! We have hair bands and hair ties too...?

I'd never heard barrettes until I started reading BSC. (And often called Mrs. Barrett "Mrs. Barrette" until I realized the difference.) I'd just heard hair ties, clips, and bands.

^ I used to pronounce Barrett as "barrette," too!
I wore barrettes to school almost every single day from kindergarten to second grade. I still have my favorite pair - elephants.

I had plastic hairclips with poodles, elephants, flowers etc. in the 80's, I guess those were barrettes

Karen also refers to a hairbow, which I think is a pre-tied (permanent) bow on some sort of clip.

SVT taught me about barrettes, but we also call them hair clips, or hair slides.
They never hold my hair back though, I always end up clipping it back with a bulldog clip.

^ Is that a clip that actually looks like a bulldog? I could totally see Claudia wearing something like that.

I had that same fanny pack, greer. And my co-worker has a gold lame one. (I can't put the accent in, I don't know windows shortcuts!) by lame, I mean the word that is pronounced like "la-may" Is it this one from AA? My hipster friends wear them out sometimes. I can only promise to resist this trend until they make them in the holographic lamé.

^ Is that a clip that actually looks like a bulldog? I could totally see Claudia wearing something like that. Nah, nothing that exciting! It's just a hair clip which is large enough to pin all your hair up. www.monsoon.co.uk/content/ebiz/monsoon/invt/48650270/48650270_m.jpgLike this, but without the butterfly on it. Oh man, now I want to go shopping in Monsoon.
