Man, I haven't played Oregon Trail in years. I just remember dying a lot. And everything being very green. Our school had two color monitors in the computer lab, and the rest were all black and green. But Oregon Trail was the best because it wasn't math disguised as a game, it was just a game. Anyway, now that I'm away from the point...

^it was history disguised as a game. It was just disguised a little better. They should have thrown in some stuff about how people took advantage and price gouged on things like water. Or something about how they would bury the dead in the ruts that the wagons made so that the bodies wouldn't be desecrated by the native people... Or they could have made a Donner Party game. Gosh, that could have been entertaining.

Right, but I didn't have to think about it. The math games didn't have situations where math was involved, I basically had to solve math problems to earn points or get my little alien up the stack of blocks or something (that was a long time ago, lol). I just remember liking the computer class because it took the place of math that day - except when we played a math game. But I guess they couldn't give us computer homework in 1994.
A Donner Party game would win. They could make it for PS3 and it'd be rated M, but people couldn't rally against it! It's history! So therefore it's better than Grand Theft Auto!

grand theft auto is totally historical sometimes. like vice city and san andreas. you can learn about the 80s and early 90s. also, in the new gta, there is a russian radio station, so i am studying russian while driving the car. totally educational.

I've never actually played it, I just hear about how violent and awful it is. I don't really have an opinion either way. I guess then cannibals would get just as much of a bad rap.

you should totally play it. it's so amazingly fun and open. we already completed the story, but there's so much we can do. right now we have a map of "sick freaks" we need to find and do mini-missions for. they're like, crack dealers and serial killers.
gta iv and san andreas are without a doubt my all-time favorite games, the one that you know you can bust out when you're hanging out with your friends months after you beat it. their replay value is unparalleled.

About Oregon Trail - I never played that, but I did own Amazon Trail. I loved that game so much! ;D actually, the other day, my sister and I found it, and it's one of the few games that were made for like, Windows 98 that will actually work on our XP. Loved playing it again! I'd try to install it on my Vista (laptop), but the disk drive is broken

what's wrong with it? you may just need to reinstall the driver--it's happened to several of my friends.

I loved Amazon Trail a lot too! I can't put it on my computer, even on my windows XP that I have running on my mac, because it's on the little square disks not hte cds. I have always wanted to play GTA. I think that if I get this job at *cough*best buy*cough that i interview for on thursday, I might use my employee discount to buy one of them. Probably GTA3 since I only have a ps2 right now. Or maybe I'll wait and get a ps3 because i want a blu ray player anyway. I should probably not count my birds until they are hatched.

Oh, right. I forgot about those two. I went right from GTA3 to GTA4 in my head. Which I suppose would be the logical progression for someone not familiar with the series.

This is random, but there was a guy at my church the other night who was named Cary Taylor, and his dad's name was Clarence. I was like, "Wow, two BSC references."
