Just read MA's Book and thought they did a really good job in repeating the story and explaining how she found out about her past. Even details seemed consistent with Secret in the Attic. Does MA's visit to her grandma take place during the summer in her portrait? I think it says in Secret in the Attic that she went during the school year...

^ I think the visit was during the school year in the portrait, too, because Richard said she could go at break but she said she wanted to go then - as soon as possible. It was a memory so wasn't during the summer when the paper was being written, anyway.

Another consistency that I notice is Dr. Dellenkamp is always (and also everyone in town’s ;D) the pediatrician. What about Dr. Johanssen, though? Does she always work in the ER or is she sometimes a pediatrician.

^ Thanks. That's what I was thinking. I think she does in every book, too.

Something I just noticed in SS 3 is that Will from Summer Vacation writes a letter to Claud at the end. I really like it when they mention things or characters from previous books (also makes me want to read the other book if I haven't already so would be great for marketing ;D) and wish they would have done more of this. It makes me wonder if Claudia and Will kept communicating and also makes me think about some of the other super special boyfriends. Wish they would have been mentioned again....

This isn't exactly a fun one, but Stacey always had diabetes. It wasn't like they just forgot to mention it at some point, or switched to another illness. I know that what she could/couldn't eat changed, but that's for another thread. Aln - I'm pretty sure that there was a letter from Will to Claudia in "Winter Vacation." He asked her if she was going back to camp that summer, and if she wasn't, asked her to wear the teepee clothes out of sympathy for him.

^ That was the one I noticed. I liked the thing about the teepee clothes. ;D He sounded like a funny guy and I wish we would have gotten to know him better.

^ Once again, I didn't read the post carefully enough. I read it as you reading Will's letters at the end of "Summer Vacation" and wondering if he made any more appearances. I shouldn't post when I'm distracted!

Another one I just found is that the Perkins girls have the same Cabbage Patch doll - Caroline Eunice - in Ghost at Dawn's House and Claudia and the Sad Goodbye. I really like seeing little details like this reused. It helps me feel like I - and the writers ;D - really "know" the characters. I also remember that Nina Marshall's "blankie" was mentioned in a few books, as was her pretend friend "Jimmy Tony."

Well, when it comes to the Perkins, of course Ann would make sure to be consistent.

^ ;D I wonder if they really had a doll named Caroline Eunice.

it seems like the kind of name that cabbage patch dolls would come with. it was always a thrill to me when i opened my doll's birth certificate and the name would be revealed.
