Quick little question to get everyone's opinions here. I introduced the BSC to a friend and she'd lke to read them all. and i had a thought about the ordering of the books. Most of the events in the regular series cross over with the events in "Super Specials" or "Mysteries" don't they? So i think for her to get the full feeling and experience of the BSC she should read them kind of in order how they were published, not read like, say, The BSC then read all the super specials at once and then the mysteries at once, huh? Ideas? lol im so weird, i know.

That was the way I preferred to do it when I was buying/reading the books for the first time. It just made sense to me. It does make you feel like you're getting the full experience as you say. That's so cool that she wants to read them all

That's how I'm going to read them next, too! What a great way to introduce someone to BSC!

You'll have to see how long it takes. And is she going to do LS as well?

It takes forever. I tried doing that, and I figured out that I had to finish several books a day to actually make it take less than a year. Do you have the list that has been passed around that lists the books according to published date?

^I've seen that list before. It would help a lot with trying to read them chronologically.
I would like to do this but I'd have some gaps in my collection to fill in first. Plus, the library I just started working at last month doesn't have BSC or LS anymore. Apparently they just got rid of them not long before I got there (yes, I asked, thus revealing my obsession to everyone there). I was bummed.

Are you looking for this list from dibbly-fresh? Wow. 231 or so books. That's some ambitious project!

I think I am going to read them like that next. Once I complete my collection, I only have a few more books to go.

I'm so jealous! I rarely find BSC books here! I have lots to go before I complete my collection!

Try either Ebay or joining Paperbackswap, or both.

I never bothered reading or collecting in order, but I'm going to do so once I have my collection completed.
I second Wenonah's suggestion of Paperbackswap...they're great and they have a lot of the later books that seem to be the toughest to find!

I've just gotten into Paperbackswap in the last month and gotten a few LS that I wanted.

I don't really read them in a particular order. Just whatever I feel like reading. Like if I feel like reading a particular sitter's book, or about a particular event. ETA: In the quick reply box you know how it has button "post reply" on the left and "preview" on the right, well when I was posting this, both of the buttons said preview. I clicked on the left hand side one and it posted my message. Just thought I'd write that cos I thought it was weird

I never read them in Chronological Order because there never seemed to be a need to; each book had a different storyline so you never missed anything if you didn't read the previous book (and whatever you supposedly "missed" was recapped in chapter 2 ;D). Plus, when I read BSC nowadays, I usually have in my head which sitter's book I want to read and I read it. If the day comes where I actually complete my collection (by then I'll be old and gray ;D) then maybe I'll try reading them in order but for right now, out of order is fine with me .
