Not necessarily the worst books, but the books that are kind of useless, where the things that happen don't have much effect on the rest of the series in addition to not being that good or interesting.
My picks:
1)Kristy at Bat If you're big on seeing Kristy and Watson stuff, you may feel differently. But for me, giant snoozefest. Don't even remember the subplot.
2)Claudia and the First Thanksgiving Too many censorship books.
3)The Secret Life of Mary Anne Spier AKA, a PSA about Credit Card Debt.
Your choices?

Mary Anne and Camp BSC -- SO BORING AND HORRIBlE. Mary Anne used to be strong, and would get dinner ready every day for her dad. Suddenly he's gone and she's a wreck? She's not a one year old. Get over it. The only thing I remember about this is that Dawn and Sharon watched Buffy.
Any of the plots that have to do with Mary Anne's grandmother in Maryland/Iowa. Don't care.
Kristy and the Secret of Susan. We never hear about them again! What was the point?
Stacey's Emergency -- I like this one, but ... she eats some m&m's, almost dies, gets better and it's only mentioned, like one time afterwards? And she makes up all of her school work and stays at the top of her class. Oh, and i don't have a clue what the subplot was.
Claudia and the Sad Goodbye -- I just think Mimi shouldn't die. She should stick around, and not have a stroke either. She can encourage Claudia throughout all of her endeavors... the art shows, the radio shows, the photography shows, the sculpture contests, ... and finally be like: "Clauda, my claudia, you need to realize that your parents DO care about you.. they are financing all of your whims! Also, try fashion design."
Mallory Pike, #1 Fan: I just don't like this book. It's fun to make fun of though.
Jessie's Wish: While I liked this one a lot as a kid, I think it's pretty useless now.
Dawn... I can't think of a Dawn book that doesn't have something else I really like in it. I was going to say "Dawn and Whitney, Friends Forever" but then I remembered that I'm oddly amused by Mr Schafer dating.

Well, Stacey's Emergency is one which was foreshadowed heavily, and I think there's a pretty big confrontation with her parents but that was kind of repeated in Stacey's Choice.
Kristy and the Secret of Susan/Jessi's Wish: most definitely. No more after school specials!

I would leave out Mallory Pike, #1 Fan because it is HORRIBLE. I also think I must agree with Mary Anne and Camp BSC because I remember absolutely nothing about it, so it must have been pretty useless.
Also, Mary Anne to the Rescue, because it recycles the plot of Mary Anne Saves the Day, plus it has the other plot about Logan going to boarding school, which is stupid because 1) I don't care if Logan goes to boarding school, and 2) the "problem" is solved by him simply telling his father he doesn't want to go to boarding school.
Oh, and Mary Anne and the Playground Fight, because not only is the Victoria Kent stuff stupid to the point of being offensive (she wants to stay in Stoneybrook because they don't have blue jeans and hot dogs in England???), the main character has absolutely no involvement with the plot, aside from wishing her friends weren't fighting. Nobody else tries to resolve the fight, either, until the end, when they all suddenly realize they were acting like idiots.

I actually like all those books and think they have value to the series. Mallory learns that she is an idiot. Mary Anne learns that Logan's family is nutso. And for Playground Fight, it sets up European Vacation.

I was just reading the Worst BSC Books thread, and now I want to know... can we vote Kristy Thomas, Dog Trainer off the island? I am okay with removing all traces of Scout from subsequent books.
Re: Mallory learning that she is an idiot, I don't think that counts as having value, because she immediately forgets that she is an idiot, of course.

I just find it so lulzworthy. And I like that she works for a famous author. I don't share the hate for #1 Fan that seems to be common among many BSC fans.
Yeah, no Scout. I hate that whole plot. Andrew, stop whining. Scout, stop being so noble for a freaking puppy.

MA and Camp BSC. MA and the Little Princess. Dog Trainer. Scout sounds cute but that book is boring, and sooo short. Just a waste of space. MA to the Rescue. I like it, sort of, but it's also boring. BABY PARADE. God, I hate that one. I think it's very useless.

BABY PARADE OH MY GOD. What a terrible waste of trees.

I actually really like #1 Fan. I can't believe how dumb Mal was though lol. I never read Camp BSC or Dog Trainer...sounds like I'm not missing much. I totally agree with Baby Parade. And can I add Kristy and the Copycat? That was the first one that came to mind when I saw this thread.

Kristy and the Copy-cat is interesting though, because Kristy commits a CRIME and brings up her guilt in the other books--and Cary somehow KNOWS about her involvement, even though he wasn't living in Stoneybrook at the time. Tres creepy, Retlin.

I kind of like Baby Parade. The description of the float at the end was hilarious. Also, Charlie's expression.. (um, obviously in my head) is priceless.
What about the first Mystery? Stacey and the Missing ring or whatever it was called. (Wow, I can't believe I don't remember that. I am getting old) That was pretty useless as it was dumb that they believed her and we never heard about it again.

"Dawn and the School Spirit War." I don't think that added much to the series. Neither did "Jessi and the Jewel Thieves."

I would also add Stacey's Big Crush. When I read other Stacey books and she mentioned Wesley Ellenburg, I was always intrigued and looked forward to finally reading the book. Little did I know it would turn out not to be juicy, but completely ridiculous.
I'm also not too keen on Mary Anne and Miss Priss. I've only read it once, and I didn't hate it; I'm a Jenny fan, but a whole book about her? It seems out of place. For all their complaining about how they don't like her, she's a charge that gets featured a lot.
