I had magnetic pocket games like checkers that opened and closed like small books...I sometimes pictured the sitters having little games like that.

Those pocket games were cool ;D. Not sure if the BSC had those (though they may have) but I know that in one of the LS books, Karen and Hannie played a game of magnetic checkers. I think it was either Karen's School Trip or Karen's Dinosaur because that's a game I could see people playing with on a bus ride.

I think someone mentioned buying those kinds of games for the kid-kits somewhere in the series.

There at least used to be a travel Yahtzee that, except for the score sheet, was entirely self-contained. That was great. You could carry it around anywhere and not lose anything. When my mother and I went to Disney World when I was 9, we carried that in a pocket and played it in line for all the attractions.

I would've liked toys and puzzles to play with.
For my own Kid Kit, I would have toys, puzzles and coloring books for the charges to play with.

Didn't they buy one of the residents of Stoneybrook Manner a magnetic checkers set? Sounds fun. I used to have a travel boggle. The letters instead of on cubes that you shake, were on heavy cardboard strips that you inserted into a 4 row plastic holder.

Card games would also fit easily.

They sell card decks specifically for kids though. Like Old Maid or Go Fish games where the cards are bigger than a normal deck. With just a boring regular deck of cards I see a lot of games of 52 card pick-up in the baby-sitters' future.

I would have wanted a BSC book in the kid-kit...
...and I would have probably put a BSC book in mine, too! haha
