Honestly I don't think an older kid in the 80s/90s would be too impressed by a box of someone else's junky toys either.

I think you are probably right Buttercup. Though if the kids had some sort of input on what went into the kid kits, that might make them more appealing. I wonder if any of the older kids might be willing to temporarily donate something to a specific sitters kid kit for a period of time, sort of like the Pikes' lending library. Yes, I know there would be a risk that whatever would get lost or broken. The idea might be interesting because the kids might want to know how the others liked what they contributed or maybe they preferred to be anonymous. Either way it would probably lead to more client stories and/or interactions. I do also realize most of you prefer the non sitting chapters so just a thought.

^That will be a great idea. Older client give away their old books or toys to younger clients. The sitters will take them to next appointment of their clients.

I agree with Buttercup...kids today would be far more impressed with a sitter who brought her iPad over than a bunch of old toys. That is, if the kids themselves didn't have iPads of their own!

^Ipads not cheap. It will take all the baby-sitters money. But, they should get paid more of this society, than back in 80's.

Nope, if you account for how the worth of money has changed over time, wages have gone down for non-CEOs. Minimum wage in 1966 of 1.25 would be around 9 or 10 dollars now, but we're still at a little over 7$. Only people like Watson and Mr. McGill would have more money.

That's so true about them wanting to play on the computer or on ipad apps.
I liked other people's toys all the time as a kid though, I was spoiled and had lots of things, but always thought my friends had stuff I didn't, like better barbie clothes, an art kit that should have gone to me cause they had no appreciation LOL

I would have put in office supplies (for playing 'office' or 'school'), art supplies, books, DVDs, candy, baby dolls, toy cars, Legos, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk, baseball, baseball bat, glow-sticks, etc. I wouldn't be able to fit everything in a box, though, so I would use a tote bag or a duffel bag. I was a lot like Charlotte. I loved to read. Even though I knew how to read by myself, I loved it when I was read to. A lot of the books Stacey packs for Charlotte would have been the books I liked when I was her age.

Same with me. I learned to read from an early age, but it was nice when my mom read to me or if we took turns reading pages or paragraphs
