Maybe he just can't stand the thought that the "competition" is still in such close proximity and that the daughters (Kristy and Mallory) are reasonably close friends? In other words, jealousy. He perceives the oh-so-masculine Mr Pike as a threat.
SHOULD BE, being the operative phrase ;D
A divorcee who has the unusual situation (when children are involved) of absolutely ZERO contact with her ex-husband, who lives across the other side of the country.
HA!!! ;D TOO FUNNY!!!

You guys have inspired me. I'm writing the patrick/david michael story as we speak. And now it's posted at FF.net. Ah, my random boredness grabs hold of me again.

I never thought these kind of scandals were hidden in those innocent BSC books... ;D Now it really is obvious I haven't read them for too long...

When Claudia thought she was adopted, she kept looking for pictures of her coming home from the hospital...but shouldn't she really have been looking for pictures of her mother being pregnant? That would have been a dead giveaway. Since these don't apparently exist (unless Claud is really that dumb), maybe she is adopted. Maybe she's really...Peaches', who gave her to the Kishis because she wasn't ready to be a mother yet.

^Heh. Maybe she's really Mimi's. There are more health risks the older the mother is, so maybe that explains why Claudia's brain didn't seem fully developed.

People didn't seem to take as many photos of all that back then. My mother has three kids and probably two pregnancy photos in that entire time. There are absolutely NO photos of our middle sister as a baby (I'm the oldest) which my mum claims is because she and I were so close in age - pretty much the same reasoning as the Kishi's - the second child is less of a novelty, almost. Sounds somewhat insulting, but it seems to be a common trend

in my family, we took pictures but never seemed to get them developed. now with digital cameras people's lives are completely documented.

They had pictures of Janine's 3rd birthday though. You'd think a big bellied Mrs. Kishi could be seen in the background of some picture somewhere.

^ Well, I guess it depends what month Janine was born in, otherwise Mrs. Kishi might not have been showing at that point. (My brother was born four days after my third birthday, so you could tell from those pictures that my mother was pregnant.) Or maybe Claudia was born after Janine had already turned three. Although that would mean the Kishis still bothered taking pictures of Janine, but just not of Claudia.
I'm just editing this to say that I'm rereading this post of mine, and it doesn't seem to make any sense to me anymore.

^ The funny thing is, my sister's birthday is 2 wks before mine. In the family photo album, there are pictures of my second birthday and no pictures of my newborn sister who was born only a couple of weeks earlier!! She's not adopted, though! ;D all three of us are virtually identical

^ Maybe your parents did take pictures of your newborn sister but just never got around to putting them in the albums. That happens a lot, people just not bothering to put pictures in albums. I think my parents stopped bothering with picture albums by the time I was about six. They still took pictures, but they just left them all in the envelopes from the photo developing place and stored them randomly around the house. Heh.

^ Yeah, that's what happened in more recent years. But my parents are quite open about the fact that they didn't take photos of my newborn sister. They get defensive when it's mentioned, claiming that it happens with all second children

I've watched the home movies from this one there is about four seconds of footage of my sis and the rest was just me and my party. lol. Plus there are some pics of her as a baby but not nearly as many as there were of me, the oldest.

^ seems to be a common trend, especially in the days before digital cameras. I'm going to make a concious effort not to do the same with my second ;D
