Mallory and the Mystery Diary - my aunt got it for me because she had heard of the Baby-Sitters Club and thought it might be something I'd be interested in. She was right! I loved the book and it is still my favorite. It was funny that the same aunt just gave me 2 BSC books for Christmas. She doesn't have any daughters (two sons my age) and loves buyin g "girl" things.

I've told this story before, but The first book I ever read and owned was Kristy and the Missing Child. My grandma bought it for a cousin of mine who was a collector, but she already owned a copy of it. So my grandma gave it to me, because she knew how much I loved reading. what about yours, digigirl02?

Well, I'm boring...the first book I read AND owned was "Kristy's Great Idea" - I was in 4th grade at the time and was going through this huge calligraphy pen obsession...and the first thing I did when I got the book was write my name in calligraphy. Even now, I like picking it up, reading it, and seeing my name in calligraphy pen - brings back good memories.

It took me awhile to figure out what mine was because I had a lot of them that could have been it. I finally remembered it was super mystery number 1, Babysitters haunted mansion. At that point I was just starting to read the regular babysitters club books, I used to read the Little sisters constantly before the regular series.

I am not quite sure though I think the first book I read was "Kristy's big day." The book(s) I remember first owning were "Mallory and the trouble with twins." and "Goodbye Stacey Goodbye"

I'm pretty sure the first one I read was Boy-Crazy Stacey. That may be why Stacey was my favorite back then.
I think Trouble with Twins was the first one I owned too. Or at least it was the earliest book.

The first one I read was Mary Anne and the Search for Tigger. The first one I owned was Baby-Sitters on Board, but I remmeber it being really hard to choose between that and a box set with 4 books from the 60s in there.

My older brother was the one who originally read the books, he had about 15 of them, and I started to read them when I was 9 and got hooked! The first one I read was Stacey's Ex Best Friend.

That's cool that your brother read the books. I know some boys refuse to read (or won't admit to liking) books like the BSC. I don't see anything wrong with boys reading supposed "girls" books and wish that sometimes books wouldn't be promoted as "girl" books. There aren't really many series out there for boys to read if they don't like sports, fantasy, or mystery.

The first I read was "Kristy's Great Idea," and the first I owned was (I think) a boxed set of #33 - 36.

My first one was Kristy's Great Idea. My cousin had duplicates of books #1-9 and she gave them to me (she's two years older than me, and when she outgrew the BSC she gave me all the rest of her books too).
