I remember on my tenth birthday, my Godparents gave me a huge bag full of babysitters club books from their daughters who no longer read them. Their had to be about 70 or so in there, that made my birthday that year.

Mine was definitely Mary Anne Saves the Day, and I intentionally chose it over the first three, somewhat to my mother's surprise. I think I just liked the cover illustration best, and the whole drama! of the situation appealed to me, I think. After that, I went back and I read the first three, but it's possible that may be part of why I cut Mary Anne more slack--secretly, she's my "official" version.

I don't remember the first BSC book I owned, but the first one I read was Kristy's Great Idea. My older sister had it and I used to secretly steal it and read it all of the time.

I read Karen's School Picture (Little Sister #6) before any regular BSC books. I think my first actual BSC book was Kristy's Great Idea, though. If not, it was definitely one of the earlier ones. I'm jealous of all of you who remember exactly which book you read first!

Well, I am not 100% on mine, but I do remember reading those books when I was first getting into the series. I think the first little sister book I read was "Karen and the kittycat club".

The first one I read was Kristy's Great Idea in 1986. I got it from the library. The local bookstores didn't carry them until Kristy's Big Day came out, so I bought that as soon as I saw it because I remembered reading the first book in the series and liking it (I hadn't found any of the books besides #1 at the library, either, at that point). So Kristy's Big Day was the first BSC book I owned.

Mine was Mallory's Christmas Wish when I was five. (I was a pretty good reader for my age.)

Jessi's Wish. I was obsessed with terminal illness as a child.

Mine was The Truth About Stacey. My grandma bought it for me when I was about seven. That began my huge obsession. LOL

I had heard of the BSC books as my best friend at the time had the whole series. She very kindly lent me a few of the books over the years.
The 1st book that I read was "Logan Likes Mary Anne!" Another friend of mine gave it to me for Christmas in 1994. I read it that same day and I really enjoyed it.

Jessi's mean prank. I'll always love that book.
On the back though it said she went to Stamford High School.

my first was Kristy's great idea. Then I got #5, 6, and 7 for christmas that year. I actually had to WAIT for new books to come out each month and save my money to buy them.
Between that and my Bop magazine obsessions (they had LOTS on the New Kids on the Block) I didn't have a lot of pocket change in elementary school
