My unpopular BSC opinion is that I don't think Dawn's bi-costal hopping is annoying. I can totally sympathize with her and I do feel sorry for her - always missing the place you're not in, never feeling 100% satisfied wherever you live. I don't think it's selfishness or indecisiveness or anything like that. It happens. I felt like that when I moved away for university. When I was at school, I really missed my parents and hometown and friends and everything, but when I was actually at home, I missed the life I had while being at school. It can get frustrating, and it must be worse when you're choosing between your parents who lives thousands of miles away from each other. I went to school 3 hours away from home, so I could come back for visits whenever I wanted, but Dawn couldn't really do that. So yeah, I can definitely understand the way she feels.

I thought of another unpopular opinion that I have. I was just reading something over at bsc_snark, and while I do truly enjoy poking good, loving fun at these books we all adore, I can't stand the "K. Ron" thing. It's not all that funny, and it gets more annoying the more people pick up and use it ALL THE TIME.

Yeah, I hate the K.Ron thing to. It was kind of amusing at first, but now it's just annoying. can't people come up with their own funny things instead of just repeating each others?

Agree with you guys, the K. Ron thing was amusing at first, but now everyone wants to use it and it just gets old. Same thing happened with ANM.

I agree. Funny at first, but now it's just showing that people can't come up with things on their own.

My BSC unpopular opinion of the day is that I don't particularly like Jackie Rodowski. There are some books where I think he is adorable (ex: Claudia and the New Girl and 'Kristy and the Walking Disaster') but for the most part I cringe when there's a notebook entry about sitting for him. I just get tired of reading one accident after another....oy...
I actually particularly disliked him in "Keep Out Claudia" - a book whose subplot made me want to scream. The improbabilities of that silly little band caused me to tear my hair out - it actually keeps me from reading a book I otherwise actually think is pretty good...

K. Ron?
I also think there is nothing wrong with not being able to live with certain people, I personally couln't live with anyone but my boyfriend, brother or sister.

K. Ron, like L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology.

The K. Ron thing still amuses me, but I don't like when people write ANM.
I thought liking Jackie Rodowsky was an unpopular opinion? Although I actually like him a lot. And even though I don't find softball interesting in real life, the softball books don't bore me like they bore a lot of people. The ballet stuff in Jessi's books doesn't bore me, either -- I like it, but I'd like it a lot more if it was accurate.

I didn't know whether liking Jackie was unpopular or not - but I got the feeling from one thread on the sittees thread that most people seemed to like Jackie.
I also like reading about Jessi's ballet stuff, however, I don't like the way they write out Madame Noelle's accent, it really bothers me, even more than the 'allergy' and 'southern' dialect written out. The other thing that bothers me is that Jessi has to be the "best" ballet student in the class (and she clearly knows it) - what's wrong with being the second-best or the third-best student. I don't know if it bothers me because as much as I loved ballet growing up and stil do, I wasn't very good at it, or just because I don't like the constant "Jessi's like a professional dancer" by all the other sitters. Who know. It just grates...

I'm with you. I like reading about the ballet things, too, but whenever Jessi ALWAYS gets the lead, it drives me up the wall. There are lots of supporting roles that she could dance as well. I mean, she gets knocked down a peg in SS#9 but that's not with her dancing. I don't know.

It drives me crazy that jessi dances such advanced roles, like PRINCESS AURORA wtf. Also, i didn't like when they dissed Balanchine.

I'm not too bothered by the typed-out accents. Maybe it's bad writing but it's also amusing and IMO a way to give the character a distinct way of talking, like Karen never using contractions.
I don't know how unpopular this opinion is: I HATE almost all of the mysteries and super mysteries. Basically a lot of interchangeable characters that never show up again come up. There are suddenly psychotic high school kids running around Stoneybrook and (I think..) the BSC having a creepy stalker who tries to kill them. Then in the next regular book everyone pretends nothing happened. It's not right..

I've never really been bothered by the typed-out accents either.
