I've actually always gotten the impression that Patrick Brewer might have had substance abuse problems when the kids were young. Well, you're supposed to drink whiskey and cognac in different kinds of glasses, so there's that. I probably would have been able to tell, but my dad drinks a fair amount and is into expensive alcohol, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if Watson liked to sit in front of the fire with brandy in a sifter, or something. He did smoke expensive cigars until the smoke out, after all. P.S.--it's Patrick Thomas

The word you wanted was snifter, not sifter, Greer!

The word you wanted was snifter, not sifter, Greer! You're right. I was posting from my phone.

Can you imagine pouring brandy into a sifter?

I definitely agree: Watson is the type to enjoy a (semi)nightly drink-and-cigar as part of his routine. Ack. How did I transpose that? *facepalm*

In Here Come The Bridesmaids, Dawn had champagne when she was toasting Jack and Carol. I found it funny that Claud felt the need to disclaimer it by saying it was just a little bit at the bottom of the glass.

I just read Claudia's Big Party and her parents asked her if there was any drinking at the party (of course there wasn't!). Just some wild and crazy cookie decorating.

I remember my dad giving me sips of wine when I was really young (younger than 5), and I had a tiny bit of whiskey at Christmas with my family when I was 20, but my first full drink wasn't until I was 22.

MA would grow up and be embarrassed (as I was) the firdt time she was tipsy. I could imagine Logan taking advantage of that, even maybe plying her with additional drinks.

I was 16. One of the guys in my class had a New Year's Eve party, and for most of my friends, it was our first time drinking. His parents were actually there the whole time; they just didn't mind that it was that kind of party, even though we were underage.
