Am reading Mallory Pike #1 Fan and got a good laugh out of Vanessa saying that Mal was "deflaming" their characters with her play. I always find it funny when the kids mess up words and Vanessa has a lot of great poems that are funny quote material too. ;D

Claudia never ceases to delight me with her escapades in being borderline retarded. Bwa ha ha! Me, too.

^Me three. Claudia is always good for a chuckle at how stupid she can be.

I liked it in Clue in the Photograph when Claud said that her mom wanted her to read novels like "The Scarlet Pimple". I will have to call it that to annoy my aunt who is a lit teacher and always goes on about how much she loves that book and how I should read it. ;D

One of my favorite quotes is from Mary Anne Saves The Day (which is also one of my favorite books).
Mary Anne says "I am not a shy little baby!" and Kristy says "Oh, shut up." Then a few lines down Kristy says "Hey, who were you calling a bossy know-it-all before?" Stacey says it was her and Kristy glances at Mary Anne and says "Me?!" Then Mary Anne says "Don't tell me to shut up and then expect me to help you."
Well, maybe it's not that funny, but I've always liked it.

I guess I don't really have funny quotes that I like, I tend to find whole passages funny. In Claudia and The World's Cutest Baby, I think the scene where Claudia and her family are racing to the hospital is funny (especially where Claudia runs into the screen door!). I also think it's funny when Claudia's dad says "Should we head them off at the pass?" when he and Claudia run out to get film and wind up behind Russ and Peaches' car on the way back.

^ Mr. Kishi actually seemed a bit looser in Cutest Baby and was funny in some parts like the one you mentioned. That seemed out of character for his usual aloof seriousness (or at least that's how I always view him) Maybe that is his character, though, and the other books just don't show it. That book has several funny parts in it. Thanks for the compliment, kylie ;D

^Did Peter Lerangis ghostwrite that one? He always likes to make everyone wacky and prone to high jinks, but I shouldn't complain because the Hermosa Beach exchange in that particular book always makes me laugh. Although I suppose you could write Mr. Kishi's behavior off as him being excited about the new baby.

^ I had totally forgotten about the Hermosa Beach part but it was a classic - many "dumb Claudia" moments that make this one very funny. Now I'm going to have to reread this one just for the quotes ;D Comments about Claudia's "boxcar" suitcases always make me laugh too. Alan Gray and Vanessa Pike are others who usually never fail to entertain me. Sometimes Stacey has some great sarcasm.

I love how spaztastic Claudia is in Cutest Baby. It's definitely one of my favorites for the humor; it's funny but not over the top.

I love it in Sea City when Kristy reminds Claudia that "Bill is a hurricane, not a fashion show judge." ;D Love the humor in that book, anyway.

I also love how she stood up for herself there too.

I liked the scene in Here Come the Bridesmaids when Lyle the florist mentions "nasturtiums" (sp?), and Claudia responds with "Gesundheit." Classic Claudia moment. :-)
