^ She'd think having her period would be a picnic for about 2 minutes, then she'd wish she'd never started. Oh so true!! LOL.

^ I can just imagine her diary entry: Dear Diary: I finally got my period today. Now my life is just perfect. 5 minutes later: Oh crap, I wish somebody had told me about cramps.

^ Ha ha. Isn't that the truth ;D Reminds me of how the Diary of Anne Frank really annoyed me as a kid (even when I was really little, before I even got my own period) how she is all happy to have hers.

I'm scared of knowing how Mallory would really react when she started her period...

^ Even though I brought up the Mallory/period/picnic topic I likewise cannot believe we're discussing Mallory and her period ;D

I could imagine Mal being excited to get hers. I think Jessi would probably be the last because doesn't a lot of physical activity delay your period or something? I could be making that up. I was excited when I got mine cause I felt like everyone else already had theirs (didn't help that my twin sister got hers 6 mos before me! I thought that was weird!) but yeah now its just oh great that time again...

^me too! as a kid, I'd probably be grossed out by the bsc talking about their periods. I remember it was very awkward when I first got mine. since my parents were divorced, i had to tell my dad to start adding tampons to the grocery list. but I could deff. see the bsc talking about going bra shopping or something like that though.

^ I was always embarrassed to talk about it with my dad. Luckily, I had my mom around and she was great. I was fine with talking about it but just didn't care to read about it - bra shopping and stuff like that either because that was a pain for me, too. Dawnomite, you were lucky ;D

Hahaha, this thread reminds me, there was recently an episode of The Cosby Show that reran on one of those stations that shows old shows all the time, featuring Rudy getting her period for the first time. She was way upset about it, and Mrs. Huxtable said something to the effect that, "You may not believe me now, but there will come a day when you will be VERY happy to see it. Trust me." I thought it was hilarious, and I could definitely picture Mrs. Pike saying something like that.
