Not on the subject of ear piercing but about the Arnold twins - has Abby ever babysat for them? I think this might be interesting since she is a twin and so are they. Maybe they could exchange stories on switching places. Just curious.

Yes. In Abby's Unvalentine, they switch places by accident and then keep letting the boy (can't remember his name) think that Anna is Abby. They make references to switching a few times.

^Ah, okay. Thanks! Unfortunately I don't remember many of the Abby storylines and in the Chapter Twos I've read, it just mentions Abby's twin sister Anna. At least they didn't do the whole Wakefield Twins descriptions about how "that's where the similarities ended" ... ugh. That got old.

Agreed on the Wakefields. I usually ended up skipping those 10 pages in every twins book.

They mention how Anna and Abby don't have many similarities in their personalities an awful lot... Is that what you guys mean?

^yeah. The Sweet Valley series had it's own boring version of Chapter Two, describing the identical Wakefield twins long blonde hair, blue/green eyes the color of the Pacific Ocean, beautiful faces, flawless figures etc with the inevitable... "but that's where the similarities ended".
They would then go on to describe how Elizabeth was the kind, caring, hardworking student and Jessica was the outgoing, popular drama queen. They acted like it was some sort of revelation that identical twins had different personalities.

Oh, right! The BSC does that a little bit, but it sounds like it's nowhere near the extent that Sweet Valley does it.

I just got to this book. (I'm reading them in order). Why was it Claudia's fault when the twins switched places for Marilyn's piano rehearsal. I know Mrs. Arnold told the twins she was disappointed in them, but why was she disappointed in Claud? How was Claud suppose to know which was which? It was great the it was acknowledged that they were unfair to Claud and that they must have trouble getting sitters.
From page 60: Dawn was the only kid in school who could get away with wearing [clogs]. She is so self-possessed. He He

I totally agree that Mrs Arnold was a b*tch to Claud about the Marilyn/Carolyn switch. It wasn't like she was neglecting them or whatever. She legitimately could not tell them apart... try not dressing your identical twins like clones and then blaming the babysitter for being 'irresponsible' because your little brats play tricks.

Yeah, I never understood how Mrs Arnold expected the sitters to tell them apart. I suppose if your their mother and can tell them apart easily, it might be easy to forget that to everyone else (especially people who'd only met them once or twice before), think that they look exactly the same.

I always thought that Mrs. Arnold didn't think that the twins played that kind of tricks, and she thought that the switch had been due more to Claudia's fault than it actually was. I forget why I had thought that before.

Maybe because you're being too nice to Mrs Arnold?

Logically though, there is no reason why it would be Claudia's fault. Why would the kids go along with it? Would Claudia really think it was funny to send the wrong twin to the piano recital, making herself seem totally irresponsible, stupid and immature?

I don't think Mrs Arnold was suggesting that Claudia put them up to it. She knew that the girls played the trick, she just wanted all the baby-sitters to be able to tell her identically dressed identical twins apart after one meeting.
