I had a classmate in middle school who got a nose job, not sure of the specifics though.

I love this book because it was completely ridiculous while, at the same time, probably being one of the most realistic books in the series. FINALLY it comes out that the BSC members don't have time to do everything. Duh!!! Kristy was totally crazy in the beginning with the Fall Festival, and I actually burst out laughing at some of Abby's hilarious comments to her. One in particular that I remember was when she says, "What else, Kristy? A laser light show?" when she gets utterly ridiculous with her plans. Imagine having to string all of those apples on trees.
Kristy's most hilarious idea was when she thought of getting twine and making sculptures out of leaves. Imagine how difficult that would be!
I noticed that in this one, Lerangis made Kristy say things incorrectly and then have to be corrected by other people. It happened at least 3 times. I think she was even corrected by Claud once. Since when was Kristy such a doof?
I actually have my original copy of this book!!! It's all beat up and you can barely read Kristy's Worst Idea on the spine because it's been creased so much. I think I also have my original copy of Complete Guide and maybe a few others.

Logan and Shannon seemed to attend more frequently as the series went on.

Virgo, I think Lerangis really liked to make Kristy seem like an idiot in the books he wrote!

virgo, I was just thinking the other day about how in this book, everyone thinks the Fall Festival idea is totally insane, but then as soon as #104, the BSC is cool with putting on a winter festival thing that hinges entirely on whether they will get snow in time for it or not.

So true. They basically go back to their old ways.

I read this one last night and didn't like it much. It's unfortunate that I ended up reading two Kristy books in a row that I didn't like (other one was Dirty Diapers) because it's really making me dislike her character. I still enjoy early Kristy, but she drove me crazy in the later books. I think I need to go back and read some of the older ones again to remind myself that she wasn't always like this. She was way too controlling in this book and didn't seem to care about her friends at all as people, just as club members that should be available 24/7. I felt bad for Mallory when she was afraid to even tell Kristy about the writing group at the library. I also felt bad for Jackie thinking he was the cause of the club's breakup, though I did love how he signed his letter "Whacky Jackie."

I think Kristy got worse as the series went on. I don't usually mind her in books from her POV, but she gets worse in other sitter's POV books. The reason why is, again, sympathetic POV, but I understood her pretty well in this one. I instantly got why she felt worried about babysitting after Jackie fell out of the tree, and the club was having problems. I think the main problem with this book was that there wasn't much buildup. Take some of the others. From "Stacey and the Cheerleaders", everything started leading up to her being kicked out of the club for a while. I mean, there was "Stacey's Lie" and things with her ducking out of sitting jobs and being late to meetings in between then and "Stacey vs the BSC". I saw how out-of-control things got while Abby took on Kristy's role, but that was it. No build up to the club having trouble until the start of the book.

I remember being so annoyed with the stupid Fall Into Fall Festival! But last night I read Mother's Day Surprise, and I've always loved that one, even tho it's basically the same premise - giant unrealistic Kristy idea that everyone goes along with. I kind of agree that KWI just comes out of nowhere...for 99 books her ideas are great, and all the members jump on board, and then the 100th idea bombs? I liked this book for the fighting, but that's about it.

There was buildup to this book in Stacey's Broken Heart, with Kristy not wanting Abby to be President and Abby messing things up with the Mexican Festival.

Kristy was ott. Its like they can't have lives outside the BSC. And she doesn't like change. She could have been more flexible and the clients also. But it was an interesting read.

Yeah I guess. I just wanted an excuse to snark the fact that they were... ELEVEN. Come on. My cousin is eleven and he's a BABY. I don't even know if he's allowed to stay home on his own. I see this a lot these days where people won't even leave their kids home alone for a short amount of time until age 13/14 or go anywhere without an adult until high school.I even know a mom who won't leave her 15 year old daughter and 12 year old son together longer than an hour and pays a "chaperone" to stay with them when she goes on a date night with her husband or ships them to friends houses for sleepovers. I don't think anyone would hire a sitter in our area under the age of 16 (I could imagine maybe some of the more "free range moms" might consider a mature 14/15 year old if her mom live right in the neighborhood for a short while). However, back in the late 1980s it was totally normally for 11 year olds to baby-sit (although it would have still warranted a CPS visit back in 1989 when Jessi was left in charge of her brother and sister for an entire weekend). I don't think I know anyone who was allowed to stay home alone over night until at least 14 (let alone baby-sit younger kids) even back in the early 90s. I was seen as an odd and immature kid lacking in common sense but I was allowed to stay home easily at age 8 for half an hour or so but not allowed to babysit until high school (which was considered very late then). Back to the main topic. I'm trying to get caught up on the BSC book from #70 onwards as I outgrew the books around then. I am now in my late thirties and getting re-obsessed with the BSC (and my mom was on my case about being way too old for the BSC at age 14/15; I wonder what she'd say now, if I add the original 1990s editions of the BSC books on my Christmas list to the family!). I'm trying to decide which 10 books (including the ff series) I should get on ebay. Would you say this is one of the top picks? It sounds like it should be.
