^ I also agree that Kristy was just as bad. She was pretty immature stooping to Shannon's level but Kristy tends to do stuff like that a lot, I've been noticing lately. I think they were both almost equally obnoxious to each other. What bothered me was how they just somehow seemed to "magically" become friends after this book. I guess it is a nice thought that they just put the past behind them and laughed about it but I would have liked for it to at least be brought up again. I think there should have been some lingering tension between Kristy and Shannon or at least some resentment on Kristy's part (every time I thought of Louie, I would have thought of how Shannon made fun of him but maybe that is just me....) and I didn't really pick up on any. Maybe I'm forgetting something, though.

Well, no one ever said Kristy was mature! (although she is in other ways) Shannon was the one who surprised me, cause this book is kinda OCC with the rest of the series. Shannon later on is too busy to care she can't sit!

^ I never thought about Shannon being busy but you're right. It seems like her character was used in this one with no real intention of bringing her back but then they decided to so changed some things as needed.

Is she made associate member in this book? Can't remember.
I agree the behavior seems out of character for Shannon. She seems more mature than that but then again this is the girl who failed a French test to avoid having to hang out with her mom so maybe she's not as mature as she portrays herself.
I totally agree with aln that the way they just suddenly become friends is super unrealistic. That's one thing that always bugged me. When I was there age I held onto grudges (still do I guess!) and they just randomly make up!

^ I think Shannon did become an associate in this book, which is what made it even more strange. I also hold grudges, though I'm trying to get better about it ;D

I think Shannon and Kristy were both immature in this book, but I have to stop and think that at that age I would might have acted like that as well. Kristy may be immature at times but I still love Kristy. In some ways I think I was like Kristy when I was her age.

Yeah, Kristy can be stupid when it comes to stuff like this, but so mature when it comes to the BSC. Go figure!

“Priscilla has never been sick,” said Amanda. “I think it’s because she cost four hundred dollars.”
“Well, I doubt that,” I told her, “but I’m glad she’s so healthy.”
“If Priscilla dies,” said Max, “let’s give her a funeral.”
Amanda scrunched up her face in thought. “Okay,” she replied. “We could make a cross for her. And we could play music from The Aristocats.”
“And I,” said Max, “would say, ‘Priscilla had a beautiful tail.’ ”
“And I’d say, ‘Priscilla cost four hundred dollars,’ ” added Amanda.
I rolled my eyes.
I was just reading this book again and this paragraph made me burst out laughing. ;D

^ That is a classic and gave me a good laugh, too ;D Thanks. I had forgotten about the funny parts of this book with all of the sad stuff. Have to love the Delaney snobs and Priscilla. That cat always makes me laugh. Her and Boo Boo.

That's really weird that Max and Amanda are already planning their cats impending doom.

^ I'm with Kristy...I highly doubt Priscilla's cost is what keeps her from getting sick. At least these days (with dogs especially) purebred, expensive pets can often have MORE health problems!!!

Amanda's really funny when she starts quoting how much things cost. I loved it when she said something like, "don't throw that [piece of pepperoni pizza]! Mom just cleaned that rug which cost $1,000!"

That's really weird that Max and Amanda are already planning their cats impending doom. This was right after Louie died.
