I consider myself a Taurus but it seems that I was born on the cusp of Taurus and Gemini.

I was also born on the cusp of Taurus and Gemini, so we must have really similar birthdays! I was born at the end of the cusp though so I consider myself a Gemini.

It seems like I was born in the middle of the cusp (to be born on a cusp, you have to be born three days before or after the change in signs). I might have to consider myself both a Taurus and a Gemini.

There were so many things wrong with this book I don't know where to start. It's a PL and I HATE this ghost writer with a capital H.
When you're the father and your wife has a baby you don't announce to your nieces " You have a new cousin." It's just stupid. He should have said " I have a girl!" Or something like that.
I have heaps of cousins and haven't even met some of them. I just don't care because they're not my immediate family. When I gave birth to my kids the only people I wanted there was my mum (my dad died years ago) and my sister. That's it. No nieces, nephews or other family was allowed to be waiting while I was in labour.
So I don't see how and why they made it such a big deal about a new baby. Babies are born every day and they carried on like she was a princess or something. Do I sound bitter? Maybe it's just that I cannot stand PL.

And there’s the difference, no? Claudia and Janine had none. Small family. Of course they’re going to be excited.

Finished this last night and sorry for my previous vent. Claud was more of a hindrance than a help. Taking over and not letting her aunt and uncle find their own way with Lynn.
I cackled when I thought about the future and how thirteen year one Lynn would end up hating her aunt because she's so intrusive!

livvy Claudia was excited because she's close to Peaches and Peaches had been trying to have a baby for awhile. It is exciting! I do think it was weird for them to wait in the hospital for hours, though (like wtf was that).
Normally I think Peter L writes Claudia well, but this one doesn't work for me. I still enjoyed reading it (I think partly because I've never read it before... those always tend to be fun), but she just comes across as such a dunce and kind of mean-spirited at the same time somehow. It actually feels kind of OOC (Claudia often comes across as one of the nicer BSC members to me in later books).
Idk how she didn't notice that she was being overbearing to Peaches. And she absolutely was. Just inviting herself over all the time to "help" (so much cringe with the coffeemaker and all her tips) and not taking her mother's hint that she should keep her visits short. Honestly, though, Mrs. Kishi should have said something to Claudia. Told her to back off a bit before things escalated. And omg I cringed so much when she accidentally woke up Lynn during her visit before going to Philadelphia, then had that fight with Peaches and slammed the door (causing Lynn to cry). Wtf Claudia?!
I hate that she thinks she knows more than Peaches about taking care of a newborn. Ugh. Sometimes being in the BSC gives these characters a big head about childcare. Ffs y'all are 13 (or 11) and watch these kids for a few hours at a time. Yes you do know a lot about childcare, definitely more so than average kids around your age. But you do not know more than the kids' parents (well, okay, maybe Mrs. DeWitt or the Hills).
Then she obsesses over Lynn while in Philadelphia and it's... weird, honestly. She's gone for a weekend and keeps having dreams about her and thinks she's in danger. She considers calling home and I am SO glad she didn't. Good lord Claudia, get a hold of yourself.
The Melissa subplot just felt weirdly tacked on. Claudia was unnecessarily mean to her as well. Yes, Melissa was a little annoying. But Claudia didn't have to say yes to sneaking to that other museum. She was equally at fault (maybe 40% since it was Melissa's idea... but still! She could have put her foot down). I also don't buy that her classmates were mad at her for getting lost. Why would they be mad? I feel like most of them would be curious or even think they were cool for defying the rules. I was a VERY straight laced kid, and if I was on a trip like this and some other kids did this, I would've been dying to ask them about their "adventure" lol. I just can't believe that her classmates would be mad at her.
Lots of food in this book, although nothing really stands out much to me (I'm more of a Dawn). Well, Claudia's 3 desserts do. Cheesecake, ice cream (my lactose intolerance is crying), and shoofly pie (never had this, curious). Oh, and I kind of love Claudia, Abby, and Stacey sneaking off to the burger place at like midnight. Feels true to actual 13 year old girls. The 3 of them seem to be a pretty fun group. Abby kind of works well with each BSC member (although I don't really remember her interacting with Jessi much) and that's pretty cool.
I don't like the Arnold twins (I tire of having to read a rehash of #21 all the time and I feel like Carolyn's science obsession is OTT. Marilyn is alright but just kinda there), so I was dreading the subplot. But as Arnold subplots go, this one isn't bad. For one thing, it only takes up 3 chapters, and for another, I think it's kind of awesome that they like gory horror movies (I do too). I'm not sure I buy the movie they made with Kristy to be watchable in any way, but this is the BSC, so I guess it's expected lol. And OMG. Logan is the first one to sit for them, and for the first half of the job, he just sits around doing homework while the girls watch TV. WHOA. I can't believe it. An actually realistic baby-sitting job. And Kristy doesn't have a cow. What?!
I do agree that this subplot is also tacked on. It has nothing at all to do with the main plot. But for some reason I liked it and it felt like a nice break from Claudia acting like such an overbearing know-it-all. Maybe it's because the bar is set so slow for Arnold subplots lol.
So yeah... this is not a favorite. But at least it isn't boring. I guess I'd give it a 5/10. Entertainment wise, it's like a 7, but I think it's poorly done overall and Claudia is just such a jerk that it loses points for me.

And another thing. Why was Claudia dancing around with a new born?? Of course Lynn threw up. Gosh Claudio is an idiot. And of course she had to invite the BSC a day after Lynn is bought home. If I were Peaches there's no way I'd want a bunch of kids showing up at my house to meet my baby. I'd want privacy for a few days at least.

Definitely! She should have at least asked Peaches first.
