Ugh. The most interesting thing about this book was the ear-piercing continuity error (thread in The Sitters section) ... otherwise it was just another unrealistic book with ridiculously predictable, yet far fetched incidents, tons of EW-ing and Mary Anne chucking a temper tantrum because she felt pressured to lay in fake blood for the first aid safety demonstration. Also, for someone so relentless and stubborn, Mr Bruno certainly came around pretty quickly when Logan, ya know, told him that he didn't want to attend boarding school

I have never read this one. What # is it? If anyone wanted to share a basic plot summary, that'd be awesome as well

It's number 109, one of the few later books I have ;D
Basically, MA and the rest of the BSC are waiting in the airport to meet Dawn when a guy almost chokes to death. Sharon ends up giving him the Heimlich manouver and saves his life. MA is understandably shaken by the experience and she and the rest of the club decide to take a first aid course (coincidentally at the same time as Alan Gray)
On the first day, Logan is moody and miserable, eventually he confesses it's because his dad wants to send him to the boarding school for boys that Mr Bruno originally attended. Logan claims it's not worth talking to his stubborn dad (or his mum, because the dad is 'man of the house' - bloody Ann and her man issues). Predictably, Mary Anne is devestated.
Anyways, they continue the first aid course with Mary Anne freaking out at every little thing and eventually have to simulate a car accident for the Safety Weekend festival. Dawn volunteers Mary Anne to be the massive blood loss victim. MA is too shy to speak up, so she has to lay in the boiling hot sun covered in fake blood and ends up cracking the shits. Finally she admits to Dawn that she should've stood up for herself.
Chapter 14 finale. MA and Dawn were watching the Korman, Papadakis and Hsu kids in the pool (can't you see where this is going?!) the next door neighbor who agreed to provide the required 'adult' supervision (which makes you wonder why Mrs Korman hired a babysitter, but moving right along) had to take a phone call and Timmy Hsu fell into the pool! He was unable to swim!! So it was "Mary Anne to the Rescue!" she dived into the pool and saved young Timmy's life, giving him CPR.
Chapter 15, MA's a hero etc and finally has the courage to convince Logan to talk to his dad. Logan does so and within two pages, is remaining in Stoneybrook. Yay.

Was there something to do with cheese in the end of the book where they talked to Logan's dad? I've got a feeling there was. God, imagine being so dependant on your boyfriend at the age of 13

They ate cheese in the scene where Logan confronted the dad. I liked the shopping trip in this one, where Mary Anne is trying to find Logan a shirt and Logan keeps going off to get cookie samples Overall, I didn't like this as much as some others. It's not one that I reread often. But still, it's not bad. I really like the cover of it! It's cute.

I just read this one recently (not when I was a kid), and I thought the boarding school sounded sort of fun, and would probably be great experience for Logan.
It made me feel really old.

This is one of the few books left that I haven't read. I put it on hold at the library, but they don't even HAVE a copy. Beats me why it's even in the system...

Mary Anne is such a hero. She let Timmy drown, and then she rescued him! Ugh is right. If they hadn't been so irresponsible, it never would have happened. Plus, Timmy can swim! As early as book #39, when the Delaneys had very specific rules that only kids who know how to swim can use the pool when the parents aren't home! The whole thing was just so contrived. Of course all she had to do was the most basic part of CPR, which is the only thing they learned in that class.
Speaking of, none of them ever took one before? You'd think Kristy would have made them, being responsible babysitters and all. And really, how many times have they had to call an ambulance in this series?? Disaster follows them around.
Mary Anne loses her temper again. Yeah, Dawn shouldn't have volunteered her, but overdramatic much? Then the requisite "I never act like this." "You're never like this!" Uh huh, sure. Just keep on saying it.
I guess I'm sick, because I laughed when Jamie Newton thought Mary Anne was dead in the pool of blood and burst into tears.

i haven't read this one, but the title alone bothers me because it's way too close to "mary anne saves the day".

That's pretty much spot on, really..."Mary Anne Saves the Day II", except the first one was better becuase Anne wrote it back in the day when a Baby Sitter was allowed to have their own real personality.

Yeah, that's what I always thought. This book is Mary Anne Saves the Day, only with Oh noes! Logan has to go to boarding school!!!!!!1 as the intertwined plot instead of Oh noes! The club members are all fighting cuz we're immature bitches!!!!!!!11

I thought she just did rescue breathing? If I remember right, that's all that she did.
