^ it was, but really, what are the odds of some kid almost drowning on her watch merely a week after she finished the first aid/survival course (whatever it was)... pretty unlikely.

This book was ridiculous.
Also, the cover... okay, first of all, Logan looks like he has a beer gut. Second of all, he looks like he DESPISES Mary Anne. I mean wtf???
The whole thing with Timmy was predictable and lame. I mean Mary Anne DID pretty much just watch him drown. Like, they saw him go under then she dove in, so... how long could he have been under? Did he really need CPR? I mean if you literally watch the kid go under, how long does it take to rescue them?
Jamie Newton was funny in this book. It was SO funny when he's like "Mary Anne is DEAD! I saw her die!" or whatever. But wtf is he doing in a stroller? he's 4. Maybe it's just me, but that seems a bit big to be riding in a stroller with your baby sister.
What a coincidence Alan Gray, Pete Black, etc are in their CPR class. Why were those boys even signed up? Geesh, good thing nobody in Stoneybrook needed a sitter while the girls were in class. The parents are so accomodating sometimes, lol.
And the thing about Logan's dad... riiiight. I'm SO sure, you put a deposit down on friggin BOARDING SCHOOL without even discussing it with your child. I did like when he was telling MA that he fought with his dad cause his new school wouldn't have girls at it, haha. Oh and MA asking if they have a phone at his school, lol.
Ooh, what's up with Logan's Dawn-hate in this book? he was constantly snapping at her and being very rude to her for really no reason.

ITA, but the sad part is, it doesn't seem unusual at all. I saw a kid that looked almost 10 yrs old wearing a school uniform riding in a stroller

This is the only BSC book in the main series that I had not read up until this summer. I didn't ever own all the other ones but I did read them. I found it in Botswana of all places, so of course I bought it.
Yeah it sucked. Really badly. The Logan going away to school sub-plot was stupid and totally out of left field. The main plot was equally far-fetched.

I kind of wish Logan's big news was something really huge and dramatic, and not just something that could be resolved if he was just honest with his dad.

Was it being pushed by an 11 year old?

Well, the parents would probably rather have them know CPR than not. As for the boys...maybe they just thought they'd get to kiss girls in the class.

Story of the BSC's lives, really, isn't it? Drama queens, the lot of 'em! And I second the "Hee" to the question of whether the stroller was pushed by an 11 year old. That gave me a good chuckle.

I just read this one! Ha, I was actually very amused by that, because she was an extra-annoying vegetarian in this one. And Mary Anne getting in a snit when Logan said Dawn would like that back-to-nature camp or whatever. I loved Abby's sitting job for the Hobarts in this one! Johnny sounded so adorable. I totally loled at "traffic jelly". I am glad to see those kids finally assimilating

^I haven't read this one yet, but when I saw "traffic jelly," I immediately thought it sounded like something dirty. Off to my corner....

Just found this little gem in Chapter 2.
"When the Kishi girls were younger, their parents used to put colored stars on a chart for every test score over 90 - pink stars for Claudia, yellow for Janine. They stopped when the yellow ran out and the pink box hadn't been opened." Ouch!

I'm glad Mary Anne was able to change the Bruno's minds. Mary Anne and Logan make a cute couple.

It's a filler book in my opinion. The later numbers have some good gems, but they also have some fillers.
My copy is all chewed- defenitly one of the worse condition books I've seen...

This one didn't leave much of an impression on me, except I wondered when exactly Mary Anne went from just being a shy girl to having such high anxiety about everything. I know she went to therapy some, but they never talked about it much in anything I've read so far. I just didn't like how it was glossed over in this one because being shy is not the same thing as being afraid of the world around you.
I actually liked the idea of them taking a CPR class except the plot was too similar to the infant care class they took in Kristy and the Baby Parade. And like others up thread said, why would Kristy not think to make everyone take a class much sooner (like before they are allowed to join the club)?
