I did like the classes they took at the community center. I did feel sorry for Mary Anne though when one of the EMT workers put on the tourniquet on too tight, the EMT sweating on her and being almost dropped from the stretcher. I guess that EMT wasn't used to people watching her or maybe it was her first time during this.
For the Mary Anne and Logan subplot, I could've done without it. You would think that Logan was going to tell Mary Anne something more serious. I just wanted him to talk to his dad about it so that it could have end sooner.
Overall, I'm just glad that I won't have to read this book again for a long time.

I guess, I didn't post what I thought about this book.
The first time, I read the scene at the airport. I thought, the dad was going abuse/yell at the kids. Cause, he was pounding on the table.
Didn't like Dawn in this book. Telling people, what food is bad for them. It's like, just because, you don't like that food. Doesn't mean, everyone else does.
What's the point of Alan, Pete, & Irv, going to first aid class? They seem, they don't care about safety. The book, really didn't mention why they were there. Mary Anne, mentions they're at First Aid Class. Did the the boys got in trouble or they saw BSC Names on the board. They're like let's gross the girls out. Or they like to see blood & gore.
Why will Mr. & Mrs. Newton, take they're 4 year old son, to see a mock car accident? Him crying about Mary Anne being dead. Claudia being hurt. Then, Claudia bribe him going to the fair. Lucy & Jamie, both crying seeing that horrible accident. I think, they should stay home with Claudia. Claudia, could go later on that day.
Logan, should told his dad earlier, he didn't want to go. Yes, Mr. Bruno your son & his girlfriend, is going get married at 13 years of age. (I think it's a bad joke)

Most ridiculous: Mary Anne thinking Logan's news was that he was in love with a college girl. Oh yeah. College girls and thirteen year olds...
The ending with MA and Timmy felt so dramatic the first time I read it so long ago. I remember rolling my eyes at Dawn for chastising the neighbor about drinking soda as he was lying by the pool, but I think I would do that now...tell him that it's too much sugar and caffeine and to drink some water. Lol.

Haha oh how could I forget? Mary Anne once before thought Logan was going to fall into an older woman's clutches in Winter Vacation. She better keep him away from Mrs. Barrett

I liked the beginning and Mary Anne’s reaction to her volunteering experience, both appropriately intense (and with Sharon interesting in the former), and her crying and tearing-up were believable but otherwise MA seemed a little too scared too often, in most earlier books she more often became pretty confident when she felt strongly about something and she would have felt strongly about wanting to learn. Plus it seemed both too OOC and too rehash with her having responded well to emergencies in book 4 and SS5. I felt sorry for her that she didn’t have any soft drinks. Weird that she now has pierced ears and claims to have had them or been allowed to have them since seventh grade.
It was initially interesting to see Logan acting unusual but it felt too much like book 66 with not much plot in a plotline, a character just waiting to speak up for themselves. It wasn't believable that he wouldn't have said what he eventually said in the end earlier (although it was somewhat interesting that his dad was a little more easygoing than he thought).
Dawn, Alan and the teacher’s replies to Alan were all pretty annoying.

Just reread this and...well, it's OK. It just doesn't feel like a BSC book to me. Anyone else get that feeling?

This book was so bad I didn't even finish it. And I don't like the title either-it was too close to BSC Mary-Anne Saves The Day which Ann actually wrote and it 100% better. Most ghost books I don't like are written by Peter Lerengis or whatever his surname is.
And they said in one part of the book Sharon had nieces. I don't recall Sharon having any brothers and sisters. Plus this reminds me why I can't stand Mary-Anne at the best of times-she's such a wimp!

Ugh. ...Mary Anne chucking a temper tantrum because she felt pressured to lay in fake blood for the first aid safety demonstration. Mary Anne never had a 'temper tantrum'...she and Dawn fought a bit, but then Mary Anne went to her room and cried for a while. Then she came back out quietly and she and Dawn made up in less than an hour after they both apologized. Ugh. Also, for someone so relentless and stubborn, Mr Bruno certainly came around pretty quickly when Logan, ya know, told him that he didn't want to attend boarding school. Only because Mary Anne was there, especially after her heroic rescue of Timmy. Also, Logan's mum spoke up and admitted that she didn't like the idea of sending Logan off to any military school either. This was one of my favorite Mary Anne books. Sensitive, shy people do NOT have to spend their lives as passive victims.

I'm surprised that I didn't share my childhood story about this book! So, as you may know, I was freakishly obsessed with Mary Anne as a kid and would check the back of each book right away to see if the next one was a Mary Anne title. (I was really pissed when Claud got book 97, 101 & 106!) Anyway, I knew this book was coming out so on June 1st I called ALL of the bookstores in my hometown and asked if they had it in stock yet. Luckily, one did. I was at my Grandmas for the weekend at the time and I called my Nana and Popa (who I was raised by) and begged them to take me to the bookstore -- which was the farthest one away -- to get this book. I literally ran through the entire mall. I think I even asked them to put aside one for me "just in case". So my childhood memories of this book were blurred by how happy I was to have it! Bringing this story up again because I always think of it when reading this book. I like this cover!

^That's cute. Do you remember if the book lived up to your excitement?
I've told my similar story about being so impatient for Kristy for President to come out that I thought I could write it myself. Not a fan fiction, the actual book. I thought I could predict the future. I wasn't a Kristy fan in particular. That just happened to be the next book to be released, and I really, really wanted it.

Yes, I think it did. To be honest, I probably just ate up anything Scholastic presented to us. But rereading it again, I think the Logan and emergency plots are pretty strong. Furthermore, they depict different types of emergency crises - health and "social". What was your idea for Kristy for President (before reading the actual book)? Just curious as I can see several ways of it being interpreted.
