I'm really surprised that all Dawn cared about was getting the credit for her idea . She was afraid that Kristy would steal all the credit from her . Shouldn't she care about why she came up with the idea in the first place and not about the credit ??
I'm also surprised that MA agreed to be in the assembly . I don't care who you are shy people DONT do assemblies ! And why did Dawn introduce the BSC? Wouldn't half the school students already know them ?

Yet another BSC to the Rescue book! But it wasn't SO terrible, a tad unrealistic here and there, but generally enjoyable. I liked reading about the kids over-zealous efforts, donating all their parents best things without permission. Even the Pike backyard carnival was fun to read about. Can't believe all their activities and organised events are always so successful, but that's the BSC I guess. Unrealistic moment? When Dawn called Ms Besser (whom she'd never met) at home, explained that she was Jeff Schafers older sister (whom had only been in Ms Bessers' class a few months) and the response was "oh, HELLO Dawn! How ARE you?" as if a call from Dawn was a reasonably common, if unexpected occurrence. Since the book mainly focused on the Zuni fundraising efforts, the title was a bit misleading. The sleepover seemed a reasonably minor event in the book. But it was fun to read about. Dawn did meet her though . In book 15 Dawn got a call from her and had to go to Jeff's school .

It was at the elementary school and the majority of the audience was kids she babysat for. And it wasn't like she was doing it by herself, she had the rest of the BSC to back her up. The Rodowskys' garage sale was a train wreck. Of course all the kids would take things from their parents without asking and try to sell it. Also, Mrs. Kilbourne and Mrs. Delaney had items at the garage sale. The Kilbournes go to Stoneybrook Day School and the Delaneys went to Stoneybrook Academy. I thought this was an SES project? Unless since all the kids of Stoneybrook get along perfectly with each other (except the Delaneys), they heard about it from their friends.

I don't know about anyone else but I find the term Anglo very offensive. Call me Caucasian not Anglo!

I don't know that I hear the word Anglo often. Probably only when people say WASP and that's usually an insult. For people in New England, Anglo seems technically appropriate but not the word I would choose.

I've never heard anyone use the word Anglo. Google tells me that Caucasian is now outdated/too vague? I can't keep up. I just say white. Apparently it is not ok to capitalize the w? Again, I can't keep up.

I don't know whether or not the word Caucasian is outdated but if it is, it might be because it's from a very specific area - the Caucasus region. It's a region between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. The countries in the region are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and parts of southern Russia. There are also several partially recognized and unrecognized countries as well as autonomous regions. I imagine the reasoning would be something like why is an Irish person called Caucasian when Ireland isn't in the Caucasus region since it's on the other side of Europe.

I miss the connection with the big plate of croissants. I like her purple outfit. It looks comfy. This is boring, but I like the girl's funky coat in the background. That kid yawning in the background looks like a werewolf mid transformation. Titles: Diane and the super pajamas (?) Dawn’s long night Carla to the rescue

Sadly just not a fan of this one. It isn't bad, just isn't that interesting. Fundraising is great, but reading about it isn't. There wasn't even really a subplot (didn't realize I'd miss that) aside from the kids being overzealous about donating their parents' stuff. Meh. Kind of a bummer, because so far, Dawn's books have probably been the best overall.
I did like reading about the sleepover, although no matter what age I am, that event would be a big NO for this introvert lol. Just sounds like a nightmare. I was teased a lot as a kid and had trouble sleeping anywhere but at home. I probably would've gone home after the games. As a teen I loved sleepovers, but only with my close friends.
I'm hungry for pizza and pancakes now though... mmmm carbs. I haven't had whole wheat pizza in years, but I didn't like it when I tried it (and I like most healthy food, even weirder stuff). Maybe I'd like it now. I just remember it tasting oddly sweet.
Not bad, just not my thing I guess. Weirdly reminded me of Goodbye Stacey Goodbye, just a lot of stuff about a topic I'm not that interested in. Now, I loved it in SS14 when they actually visited the Zunis. Great continuity and much more interesting.
