Oh my God, when I had spent a few weeks revising for a French Speaking Exam, my Mum told me that I had started talking in my sleep in French towards the end!

I don't sleepwalk, but I've been told that I mumble in my sleep. God only knows what I'm saying.

I like that Dawn got proper attention and praise for her work in this one considering that a few books later she's completely overlooked in her participation with the the recycling program. Wow, I just realized that the BSC members would have really impressive college applications if they kept up with these projects for 4 more years.

One thing that always stuck out to me about this book was its color! When all my BSC books are lined up in a row, this book sticks out like a sore thumb because of its dark orange color. Was that orange hue supposed to be some sort of homage to the Southwest? I really like this book, even if it's unrealistic. Going to the sleepover and eating pizza (on whole-wheat crust!) sounds like so much fun, even as an adult!

^The project, especially the sleepover, does sound like a ton of fun.

I liked the orange, but then I'm not a fan of the pastels that so many other covers were. Why must every girl targeted book these days be pink? It's embarrassing. The donation part of this book reminds me of the end of Clueless with the donation drive that Cher gets involved in. I forget exactly who that drive was for, but I think it was somewhere hot and dry and Cher donated her skis.

Oh, yeah, I remember the kids dropping off weird stuff at the Schafers' barn like imported chocolates and hot cocoa. That was funny.

^I don't think hot cocoa mix is the worst thing in the world to bring to a food drive. After all, it keeps for quite awhile, and it's a nice treat.

Hot chocolate wouldn't be the most refreshing thing to drink in that situation. If the pen-pals had been in Minnesota in January, then heck ya. Bring on the cocoa!

^ That's true about the Zuni's climate. I drink hot chocolate no matter what the weatehr, though.

I really liked this book! My favourite parts were the description of the pizza and the pancakes at the sleepover. I don't even like pizza or pancakes that much, but description of food always seems to be my favourite thing in any book. I liked all the different baby-sitting, fundraising scenarios in this one too, like the yard sale and the talent show. And Keisha Ramsey makes an appearance! I know right? Description of food, clothing, getting dressed up for events and shopping trips were the most exciting to read about in those books.

This book has basically no plot, but I still love reading it because the sleepover sounds like so much fun. One of my favourite books in the Gymnasts series was #7, even though it had almost nothing to do with gymnastics, because they have a big sleepover in the gym for Halloween. (Well, and it's also a Jodi book, and Jodi's my favourite character in The Gymnasts.) Ooh, and another good book with a big sleepover is Sixth Grade Sleepover by Eve Bunting, although I didn't read that one until I was an adult. And Earth to Matthew by Ann's friend Paula Danziger, where the sixth graders have a sleepover at the science museum. Yup, I like reading about big sleepovers!
