We did a lock-in at the library I used to work for. It was for three hours and we did a scavenger hunt and then played board games. When all the parents came back to get their kids, they asked if we'd ever thought about doing a sleepover. We just laughed and said we didn't think we were up for something like that. I think the parents all enjoyed having the time off from their kids and wished it could have been overnight!

Thanks, Sweetvalleygirl. I've always been the odd one in my family in terms of eating. I think that when I was very young, eating became something I could control. Either that or my taste buds truly are stuck in time warped BSC land. Candykane, that sounds like a fun thing to have done. A children's museum I used to volunteer for had thought about hosting an overnight but never ended up doing so.

I just finish this book. My favorite part was, when they out prizes to the kids, eating pancakes for breakfast, Buddy sleep walking, & the Pike's fair.
I went to, three locks in, when i was growing up. (one big sleep over party. (with girls & boys) Girls sleep in the living room. the guys slept downstairs. The adults make sure, we stayed in our place. while sleeping. (unless, the boys went to other house, that wasn't from the house girls we're in. This was long time ago. Like 13 or 15 years ago.)
I don't mind the red sauce on my pizza or pasta. (I also like alfredo sauce.)
The book was in hard cover. Not soft cover. I didn't know, BSC did hard cover for their books.

^You might have a library edition. . .a lot of paperback series do small hardback runs for libraries, because they stand up to more wear and tear.

I'm surprised Peter Lerangis wrote this book. It doesn't seem like any of the later books he wrote. I like the continuity in BSC in the USA, when they visited the Zuni school. It's too bad that it wasn't mentioned how much money was earned.

^I'm actually glad they didn't give a number for how much was raised. It would either be really dated now, or unrealistic at the time of publication.

I truly wish we had been told how much had been raised. Though, I thought it was actually more frustrating to not have been told how much $ was earned by the Readathon.

Just finished this one again, the part i had to laugh at was at the end where, i think it was Ms Besser said to Dawn something like "Can you guys not get any older so you can babysit for my kids one day?" ..... guess she ended being pleasantly surprised then eh? ;-)

^Lol, I wonder if someone either "dared" or requested that the Ghostie put that in? Perhaps it was meant as an "inside joke" never thinking us fans would pick up on it.

^ considering this was the 44th book and the time warp is already established, it HAD to be an inside joke. but i knew (even as a kid) that the girls didn't grow up, so i have a hard time believing the writers thought nobody would pick up on it. i am going to pretend it was a shout out to fans, letting us know that they appreciate us suspending disbelief :]

Did anyone else notice that this book changed titles? The original is "Dawn and the Big Sleepover." It was reissued and now it's "Dawn's Big Sleepover." I might have those reversed, but I'm pretty sure "Dawn's Big Sleepover" is the newer one. I have both - not on purpose. I just happened to be going through my books the other day and noticed this.

Hmm, I like the "and the" title better.

^ I do, too. "Dawn's Big Sleepover" sounds like a LS title - like Karen had a slumber party or something. Is there a LS called Karen's Sleepover?

^ The ninth LS book is called Karen's Sleepover. It's also where Pamela is introduced.
