^ I hadn't remembered how they got the name but that is nice. The Perkins seem like great parents. I wish we got to read more about them. Jamie was also cute in this one when he was yelling that he was "King Korn" ;D

^ That reminds me that they mentioned the Moozie and Daggles thing in this book. I always think that's cute and wish they would have used it (though not too much because it would have gotten old) through the rest of the series. They seemed to stop (or maybe Claire grew out of it - which would make total sense) after the earlier books. Maybe they could have even replaced it with another cute "Claire" phrase ;D

I love the moozie and daggles thing! so cute! When I started re-collecting the series after not reading it for YEARS, that was one of the things I remembered crystal clear and was surprised upon re-reading how it was phased out rather quickly.

^^I agree. It's a nice way to make the older girls feel better about a new sibling in the family. Then again, these kids were almost perfect.
Does AMM like Little House on the Prairie? Isn't Laura Ingalls' middle name Elizabeth (or at least that's what it was in the show)? She mentioned it in Stacey's Mistake, and some other books.

^Actually, the Perkins family is modeled exactly after the family of Ann's childhood best friend. So the names of the Perkins girls are the name's of Ann's friend's kids. I think that's why the Perkins girls got phased out in the later books... the girls they were modeled on grew up and perhaps didn't want to be in the books anymore. Angry adolescent phases and all.

Wasn't there a real Laura Perkins? Or maybe a Beth? I remember a LS book being dedicated to her.

I found it sad that the Perkins girls weren't written out of the books. They were one of my favourite families in the series.

^ Mine too. Also was sad they were written out, though I never really picked up on it. Just kind of missed the girls sitting for them. ;D They are some of my favorite charges.

^^They were phased out? I never noticed that. Guess I have to read them again and (not) look for them.
I wonder what the real Perkins girls think about their fictional counterparts now that they're older.

They were some of my favorites as well but I never really notice them being gone in later books because I skip around so much in the series. It might be more evident if you were re-reading in order though. How cool would it be to be in a BSC book???

^ I don't know. I would be scared people would come on boards like these and snark at me constantly ;D

The Perkins Girls were written out of the books? I never knew that! I definitely have to reread these again to see. Anyway, I loved the Hello Mallory book. I only read it once in sixth grade, but I liked it. And even though Mal and Jessi got in the BSC at the end of the book, Kids Incorporated was a much cooler name.

mal's infamous red jumper... (or close to what i always pictured it ) farm1.static.flickr.com/146/385737078_c4533abeae.jpg?v=0 actually cuter than a lot of what i've seen, some of those jumpers are just FUG (the ones for kids are cute, but the other ones for adults I wouldn't be caught dead in). Now just missing the "mallory" shirt and white tights with hearts
