This book has always been one of my favorites. In general, I like the mysteries that are part of the regular series, before the separate Mysteries series. When I was younger, it used to really creep me out a bit, despite knowing I shouldn't be creeped out by a BSC book.
As for the mustard seed necklace, you can buy them online. I don't think I'd buy a new one, but if I found one at the thrift store and it wasn't expensive, I would. Just because it was used in this book, not for the religious meaning. ;D
This was from the other thread on this book: I totally agree. The first comment struck me as very out of character, and not only that, I couldn't see Richard letting Mary Anne read Stephen King.
As for the second, I have to assume Logan snuck out too, because what parent in their right mind would let their 13-year-old go off somewhere at midnight, alone, just because a stranger on the phone told them to? (I can't remember any mention of pedophiles in the BSC, but still.)

I love this book. Poor MA. I like the part when BSC members taught Cokie and Gracie a lesson.

I knew there was a reason I picked this book to re-read tonight. I haven't read it yet, just this and the first book threads. I haven't been feeling too good today and wanted a laugh. Afton, thank you for the big smile! So funny the story Afton shared: ^ ;D I love it. It reminds me of many years ago when my Dad, Grandparents, Champ, and I lived in our first (and only) house. On morning a bird flew down the chimney and my Grandma freaked out. I remember she, Champ, and I hid locked in her and my grandpa's bedroom while my dad chased the bird outside. ETA: This is still one of my very favorite books. I had read "Get Well Soon Mallory," before this. While I do enjoy the carnival subplot of that book, it was really refreshing to read this one because of how very much younger and early BSC the girls seemed here. The only sad thing to me was no Mimi! :'/ She should have been a part of this story. I can imagine her and Claudia or even her and Mary Anne talking about everything going on and maybe we would have gotten to meet Mimi's husband in a memory. On a lighter, brighter, note, I may not be a big Jessi fan but I think her chapter with Jamie might be my very favorite sitting experience. Jamie in general is my favorite charge when he's not bike riding for hours that is! I will always wish we had gotten to read about him dressing up as Georgie for the parade at his nursery school. This leads me, sorry for this long post, to ask if we have a thread for favorite sitting experience for each girl? I looked in both the Polls and also Client threads earlier and didn't see one. Might be interesting to make.

I don't think I would have worn it again knowing some mean girl gave it to me in the hopes that I would make an a** of myself in front of my boyfriend. That would be a cool thing to put in the capsule, though. i think it would have been awesome if she kept wearing it just to spite cokie and be like "hey thanks for the pretty necklace!"
