Is this a new movie? And yes with the BSC time warp there's room for thousands of years worth of drama to fit in!

It was a made-for-TV movie from 2005. I think I decided to watch it partly because the actress who plays Vanessa, Alexa Vega, was in the Spy Kids movies. Also, it's based on the book by Rachel Simmons, who, according to the Amazon review, "visited 30 schools and talked to 300 girls, [and catalogued] chilling and heartbreaking acts of aggression, including the silent treatment, note-passing, glaring, gossiping, ganging up, fashion police, and being nice in private/mean in public." Wonder how Mary Anne would have reacted if someone gave her a copy.

Maybe BSC is more realistic than we give it credit for.

Yeah, I think throughout the series the BSC experienced some of these topics. Mary Anne's Makeover was heavy in it and for the most part I think it was handled pretty well.

Pretty much every Lifetime movie with teenagers includes evil teenage girl cliques. I think I've read that book, or one similar to it, which is just about how crappy girls are to each other. The BSC was tame.

There was an interesting fanfic years ago with suggested that Sabrina Bouvier aged normally while every other character was stuck in the time warp.

Just read this one last night and the girls were so B***** towards Mary-Anne! Just because she got a haircut and new clothes? They should have been more supportive instead of being jealous and we never got to see Jessi and Mal's reactions either. They were mostly absent in this book.

I keep forgetting I've read this one until I read about Marilyn's time machine.

^ The time machine was always my least favorite part. I'd often just skip those chapters to get to the good stuff faster!

I actually love the time machine parts. My dad is a huge Back to the Future fan so I saw the movies when I was young, and I liked having that reference here.

I actually tried to build a time machine when I was a kid....maybe that's why I didn't need to read about it?

That is funny Starrynight! I'd love to hear about it, too I remember not being much into Carolyn's machine though it was cool reading about her doing something science-y instead of just being told "Carolyn loves science." I did enjoy the Richard/MA parts of this book so maybe I will reread it soon.

Haha that's cool, what did it look like? A bunch of blankets and an empty sandbox over a couple of saw horses...not the most technologically advances time machine, that's for sure!

Reading these last few posts about time machines is making me think of this Doritos commercial:
