I don’t remember the red bean ice cream. Interesting!
A group of 13 years watching GWTW is so dumb. Like To Kill a Mockingbird at a sleepover. I actually really liked getting engrossed in classic movies at that age — I watched Citizen Kane, It’s a Wonderful Life etc, but not with six or seven other girls lol.
Norman was so sweet. He brought the junk food into the house, didn’t he? His parents were health freaks.
I would have freaked out on MA if she kept pinching my arm at the movies. Like dumped my drink on her or something. Keep your hands to yourself!

I don't think I have the attention span for GWTW either.
Red bean ice cream sounds delicious! I've tried red bean mochi before and loved it. Yum.
Somehow liking classics actually fits Dawn's character (Mary Anne too), so I could believe the two of them sitting down to watch it. But on a double date? Nah.
I forgot that they watched To Kill a Mockingbird at a sleepover! What an odd choice.
It's kind of vague. Sarah says she doesn't know where he gets the snacks, and then later she says her parents got rid of the snacks. He also ate them in the kitchen sometimes, not really trying to hide it. Maybe he's spending his allowance on them, but I still don't believe he can afford them himself (and I just can't imagine him stealing the snacks).

Can you imagine a worse first date than watching GWTW? Sitting next to your crush for that long and feeling self conscious the whole time without being able to talk. The awkwardness would be never ending.

It still is a romantic classic albeit with tragedy and conflict and eventual breakup also. And I think the time does go fast, it feels more like 2 to 2 and a half hours, although with the actual length (and date with stranger) it could be uncomfortable to watch in theaters. I remember another book had Stacey loving it.
